What Do We Do Tomorrow?

Democracy in Crisis

Listen Later

Voting is a cornerstone of our democracy. So why don’t many of us do it? Especially now when the stakes are higher than ever. In the first episode of What Do We Do Tomorrow?, host Hannah Sung asks questions on the history of enfranchisement, voter suppression, and how we can get more people to the polls. She speaks first with Judith Goldstein, Founder and Executive Director of Humanity in Action, who breaks down how voter suppression isn't new -- it's the norm. How do we fix this? Hannah then speaks with Mikelle Sasakamoose, who helps run BC First Nations Rock The Vote, a Facebook group that has built a community around sharing information about elections and Indigenous issues in Canadian politics.

What Do We Do Tomorrow? is a five-part podcast series from 6 Degrees at the Institute for Canadian Citizenship. It is produced by The Walrus Lab.
