Jesus is preparing his disciples to be the church, and so he starts to tell them about what is going to happen to him on the cross, and God's plan through it all. Then he takes three of them to the top of a mountain and shows them who he truly is, being transfigured before them and shining with the glory of God. The Coronavirus has radically changed our lives at a speed that has been overwhelming. God's work is perfect, but the enemy has sewed weeds that hurt the crop. But God is in control, and he will accomplish what he has set out to do!

The Kingdom of God grows in powerful and amazing ways. While we are called to be faithful and to plant seeds, it is God who makes them grow, bringing life and hope into places we can't imagine!

Jesus used the parable of the soils to challenge us to be humble and receptive to the work that God desires to do in each of us. We must allow God to make our hearts soft and fertile so that his word and presence can grow in our lives.

As we wrap up our series in the Sermon on the Mount, Pastor Dennis reminds us that the Way is narrow and it is easy to miss if we fall into selfishness and become wolves instead of sheep.

Sin fills us with fear and insecurity, and sometimes to deal with that we try to draw attention to the sin of others. But Jesus gives us freedom from our sin and allows us to relate to one another with grace and joy instead of fear and competition.

God calls us to dig deep into this world and the people here, but to never forget that we are citizens of his Kingdom, meant for another world entirely. Lyndell Campbell, one of the missionaries we support, shares some of her journey illustrating what that desire to follow and serve looks like.

God doesn't want our actions, he wants our hearts. Our actions are to be a response to his love and mercy, not an attempt to earn them.
