If God calls us to a task, he will provide the strength and resources to achieve it. What is God calling you to?

While it seemed like the people around Moses might have been more capable to lead, God knew what he had placed in Moses, and used him to accomplish amazing things.

Sometimes the call of God isn't obvious or clear, but means simply doing what seems good and right in the circumstances we are in.

Gideon was faithful and obedient even when it seemed like he didn't have the resources to do what God wanted. God doesn't need our stuff, he needs our hearts!

The story of Mephibosheth is a poweful reminder of how different God sees things from the way we do. David lavished honour on the grandson of his enemy, because he sought God's glory first.

Jesus was the Messiah, God Incarnate, his birth was prophsied for millenia and announced by stars and angles, and still people struggled to understand who and what he was. But he didn't let anything stand in the way of doing what God had called him to do, and neither should we!

John the Baptist lived a life that looked wild and crazy to the world around him, but God had chosen him to prepare the way for the Messiah.

Jacob was selfish and made many bad choices, but when he was broken by God he submitted and God used him to establish his people.

God uses the unqualified and unworthy to build his kingdom. Paul is one of the greatest examples of this as God took him from hunting and murdering Christians to planting churches. If God can use Paul, how can he use you?

This week we begin our new sermon series, "God of the Underdog" as we look at the stories of the unqualified and unworthy people that God used to do amazings because they chose to submit to him.
