Episode 13: “It’s a way of expressing myself. No one has the same style. I started out with streetwear, the whole Supreme stuff back in 4th/5th grade. And then you evolve. You find yourself through fashion… What you wear is who you are.” – Shane Elias
Shane Elias is the definition of “big different.” He follows his own path, ignoring his criticism in the process. On this week’s episode of The Debate Without Debate Podcast, we sat down for a conversation with Shane about his interests, mainly his music taste, fashion, and romantic coming of age novels. There was a ton of wisdom in this conversation, rivaling our first episode for the most philosophical.

Episode 12: “All of a sudden, one of my best friends came out to me as trans. I had to deal with that and, obviously, that didn’t change anything about our friendship. Not at all… Through my movie production, I have also met a lot of other trans people online, and you realize that they are just people. You know, gay rights are getting a lot of momentum, and that is fantastic, but there is a lot of gray area around trans rights, especially implementing transgender people into the norm… Therefore, I have made it my own mission to make my media company a flagship for welcoming trans people into the media industry.” - Noah Sokolsky
In our continuing series of interviews, we talked to Noah Sokolsky and Amber Martino about their experience in performing arts school, filmmaking with no budget, and the importance of trans media work. Make sure to listen till the end of this episode to hear what is in store for these two amazing creators!

Episode 8: “When do you have time to feel proud? Not when I make it into a competition, but rather it’s those little steps forward or even when I fail and learn something completely new. That is what keeps me going…” – Justin Schiavo
Welcome to the second half of the conversation we had with Justin Schiavo, space fanatic, a Regeneron finalist, future MIT student, and residential “Rocket Man.” In this episode, we talked about some of Justin’s research, what it was like being a Regeneron finalist and competing with 40 other student scientists in DC only a few weeks ago, and how he was able to get off the deferral list at MIT. Justin has an inspiring story and spills a ton of wisdom, so be sure to listen all the way through to get the full scoop.

Episode 7: “Most kids grow up… I really didn’t. I still like to think with my head in the clouds. I still like to think about the future in the most idealistic way possible. I do believe that I want to be a part of the journey to make humans an interplanetary species. So far, everything I have done in my life has been in order to achieve that goal.”
– Justin Schiavo
Interested in space travel and all things science? Well, you have come to the right place because on this week’s episode of the Debate Without Debate Podcast, we sat down for an interview with Justin Schiavo. Episode 6: What does is truly mean to be connected? Do you feel connected to those around you?
In this episode of The Debate Without Debate Podcast, we resolved to find some answers to these questions. Through our conversations with three of our guests (Brandon, Brooke, and Aman), we learn about how young adults connect with others in our tech-centric society. Stay tuned till the end to hear Joey Bykov and Asher Bykov’s thoughts on how to break through the “modern connection paradox”: the idea that we are more connected thanks to the technology we now have, but we are even less connected than previous generations.

Episode 5: “You have nothing to lose. If you have a solution, just try it. There are no consequences in programming. If you want to crash your computer writing something you think might work, just do it. In so many other professions, there are consequences. If you are a doctor, and you like, 'Well, this might work!' You will kill someone. You have to be very careful. In programming, you can just let it out.” - Louie Kotler
Welcome back to The Debate Without Debate Podcast and to our fifth episode! This week, we have the second part of the conversation we had with Louie Kotler. If you have not listened to that to the first half, make sure to go check out episode 004! In this half of our two-part series, we talked to Louie about what inspired him to start coding, what it feels like to surpass Apple’s tech support, how Apple’s been slacking when it comes to innovation, the importance of open source companies, what it feels like having multiple coding jobs in high school, what he has learned, thus far, from his new passion, and how we balances it all. Louie also has a really interesting perspective on why yawning holds the key to a better, more connected future, so make sure to listen till the end to hear the whole story.

Episode 4: “I watched so many YouTube videos. I literally learned everything by myself. Not only because I had to, I really enjoyed it. The researching process and making sure I know everything about everything, that was really important to me. And, I think it has helped a lot in computer programing because I just go home and learn everything I possibly can. No one has really “taught” me about the stuff that I do.” – Louie Kotler
You will not believe what this high schooler is creating… In the first part of our two-episode series with Louie Kotler, we talked about how he got started with photography, his creative process, time-space synesthesia, and some amazing projects he has worked on. Check out the full episode for an incredible perspective from a budding entrepreneur!
