In this episode I talk with Osgood College of Law graduate and fellow South Asian, Zahra about anti-blackness and racism in the South Asian community. Specifically, we ask the following questions: How does anti-blackness and racism show up in our community? What can we as South Asians do to address and eradicate anti-blackness within our community? What actions can we take to show up for and support the black community? In the first half of this episode, we share our personal experiences with anti-blackness and racism amongst our families and larger community. We discuss the impact of using the n-word, colorism and the obsession with whiteness, the Model Minority Myth and Spiritual Bypassing. While the second half of the episode is dedicated to calls of action.
In this episode I talk to Chelsea Turgeon about her career transition from OBGYN intern to certified life coach.
In this episode I speak with Shakira Smith about being unmarried and single at the age of forty, her recent discovery of women's erotica, and the lifelong journey of self-love.
In this episode, I talk to Valerie Joy Rix about weaning off of psychiatric medication and pursuing an alternative route to wellness.
In this episode, I talk to my dear friend, Umair, about what it means to be an openly gay Muslim Pakistani man living in America.
Welcome to Depth and Nuance, a podcast where I have deep, nuanced conversations with everyday people about the messiness of life and being human.
My hope and intention is that this podcast encourages all of us to foster a deeper understanding of and connection to others and ourselves, and ultimately, contributes to a more compassionate world.
