We dig into Mac And Me's production, break down who was responsible for this mess of a film and the director's later days as a jingoistic and Islamophobic author after 9/11, cover the basics of Apartheid (we're not a history podcast, but we swear this is relevant), ponder the reasons that Eric's dad isn't in the picture, and ask how the traumatizing animated film Plague Dogs should have ended. We fulfill our very first listener request by tackling the movie no one would know about if it weren't for Paul Rudd committing to a bit for like 30 years on Conan O'Brien: Mac And Me! It turns out this is more than just a single scene and is actually an entire ripoff of E.T. meant to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. That feels like a Mad Lib. We break down what did and didn't work about this movie (you may be surprised), discuss cinema's rampant anti-clown biases, ponder the potential max speed of Power Wheels back in 1988, and dissect one of the most troubling and accidentally hilarious deleted alternate scenes we've ever seen. But first, we get a little weirder than usual and touch on ways we want to expand the show beyond our previous scope.
