This teaching is eye-opening. Derek Prince makes this great point: true faith produces righteousness. It changes us. The measure of faith we have is the measure of righteousness and life that we enjoy. We’re begin to realize more fully now why the Scripture says, “Without faith it is impossible to please God.”

In today’s message, Derek explains that this is not just wishful thinking, for people maintain many hopes that do not answer that description. Faith is in the present; hope is in the future. Derek points out several other distinctions between faith and hope.

Works are the appropriate actions Christians make that demonstrate faith that we confess. God’s primary requirement is faith in the heart. As that faith overflows through our lips, we agree with the Word of God, saying with our lips that which will affect how we act.

Nothing else will do for us what faith will do. In fact, “Faith Is Essential.” There is no substitute for faith. It is the only condition on which we can approach God. It is a divine “must”—we must believe.

God’s purposes for His people have never changed. He’s given us the power and ability to do just what He has created us to do through the incorruptible seed of His Word and the power of His Holy Spirit. The questions we must answer are; Are we willing to lay aside the old man, and put on the new man? Are we willing to yield our lives in obedience to God and His Word? Are we willing to take up our place in the Body of Christ and fulfill the great commission and make disciples of all nations?
