Descendre | To go down

Listen Later

A brother and sister reunite after years apart. Following the death of their mother, they set off on an aimless walk through the mountains. Wandering, they "descend" into their childhood, recounting abandonment, lies, abuse... So many mountains to flatten in order to find themselves again.

Based on real facts and testimonies, François Badoud expresses - in a fictional and poetic way - the need to remember the history of children in care and administrative internment in his native Switzerland. By denouncing the excesses of order and Christian morality, he questions our present.

A dizzying poetic journey through the memories of the placement of children and the administrative internment of adults in Switzerland up until 1981. Winner of the ARTCENA creation grant.
