The Goblins watch and review the 2019 dark-comedy thriller Villains where a young criminal couple unknowingly break into the house of an even MORE criminal couple.

Michael (Nicolas Cage) is a former marine looking for work. In the small town of Red Rock he's mistaken for a hitman hired to kill the wife of the local sheriff/bar owner (yup, the sheriff owns a bar too). His good morals lead him to warning the woman of the hit on her but things spiral from there.

In Clive Barker's first produced screenplay, Transmutations AKA Underworld, Roy Bain is hired to find former flame Nicole after being abducted. Drugs found in Nicole's room lead Roy to an underground group of mutants suffering from said drug but also needing more.

It's Tim's birthday movie and this year he chose a childhood favorite: The Last Dragon. Leroy, a young martial arts master, is sent on a mission to find "the wisest man in the universe" in order to complete the last level of his training. This causes him to run in to local villains Eddie Arcadian and the Shogun of Harlem.

For this year's Oscar Edition of the Desert Goblin Movie Club we watched Best Picture nominee Poor Things (2023) because Oppenheimer was just too long to watch again and then podcast about.

Gordon and John reunite to pack up their father's video store after he disappears months earlier. They discover a board game with an accompanying video tape that appears to possibly be linked to their father's disappearance. The Goblins also discuss traumatizing movie scenes from their childhood.
