With all the talk about the tithe, where does time fit into the picture? Is God only concerned about money? Is he only concerned about what we do for Him? Can we "earn" our tithe through volunteering at church? This message seeks to answer some of these questions.

We tend to see the truth of the tithe in the Old Testament; but how does God feel about the tithe in the New Testament? Did Jesus come and redefine the tithe? Or is there an alternative? This message seeks to address a New Testament perspective on giving.

Does Malachi really suggest that God wants our money? Or does this well-known and often besmirched passage have something else to say? God offers through Malachi a message of repentance and "return" - to be the people that the Israelites had been called to be! And yes ... Tithing is a part of that message!

Often, Christians fret over the tithe. Does it need to be paid? What about the New Testament? It's time to re-imagine the tithe, and with Nehemiah's help, we see that the tithe is more about community than money. Listen in as we take another look at giving!

When we think of tithing, we often shy away from the discussion because it brings forth so many issues. Often the church has used the principle of tithing as a fundraiser. But what if tithing is about more than this? God instituted the tithe - so let's see what he has to say in this message from Deuteronomy 14.

When a woman approaches Jesus and his disciples as they were traveling, asking for healing for her demon-possessed daughter, why would Jesus ignore her at first? And what would it teach us about how our faith should be shaped?

In exile, there are other stories that compete with the overarching story that we say we believe. How do we stay faithful to the story we claim is most important? That what this message tries to solve.

What does Jesus mean when he says things like "Don't judge, or you will be judged" or "By the same measure that you judge others, you will be judged using that measure"? Is this a call to avoid any kind of judgment? Or is Jesus asking us to judge, but giving us guidelines? This message takes a close look at this idea - especially as the church in the US appears to be in exile.

As the people of Israel were preparing to enter the Promised Land, Moses gave some sermons to the new generation to help them be ready for what they would experience as they entered. It also served to renew the covenant with Yahweh. What do we learn from these events? That's what this message discovers!
