What does it take to walk away from a steady salary and build something that lasts? In this episode, Patrick sits down with his good friend Michael Moos, a Weatherford, Texas real estate agent and investor who traded a comfortable W-2 job for a leap of faith into full-time real estate, right as his first child was on the way. Michael shares how a chance meeting at a local coffee shop turned into a God-ordained friendship, and why helping people through some of the biggest decisions of their lives is what lights him up.
They also talk about the mentors who shaped him, carrying a business alone through a tough family season, and why consistency, wise counsel, and a clear "why" matter more than chasing a bigger paycheck. Most of all, Michael opens up about building a legacy: a business that takes care of his family and can be passed down to the next generation. If you're dreaming of leaving the 9 to 5 or building your own business, this conversation is for you.

“If you’re not cooking from scratch, you’re slowly poisoning your family one morsel at a time.” In this episode, we get honest about the state of America’s food system, why real food matters, and how our family intentionally pushes back against processed, packaged convenience food. No gloom and doom and no guilt, just real encouragement to nourish your family better, even on a tight budget.
Then we get practical: why quality protein sits at the top of our grocery list, choosing the “lesser evil” when money is tight, buying whole foods in bulk, and the weekly prep routine that saves busy weeknights (roasted potatoes, a whole chicken, and homemade chicken stock). Gabbi shares the store-bought staples she now makes herself, from sourdough bread to a five-minute homemade ranch, and why giving yourself grace beats chasing perfection.

Why we've homeschooled our kids from day one, and why public school was never an option. In this episode, we draw a clear line in the sand: the public school system does not have our children’s best interests at heart, and we believe the family, not the state, is God's design for raising and educating kids. We share the convictions behind that decision and what homeschooling actually looks like in our home day to day.
We take on the arguments every Christian parent hears, from the socialization myth to the idea that kids should be a "light" in the schools, and explain why none of them hold up. Then we get practical: pivoting when a curriculum became a "complete train wreck," ditching the grade-level mindset, and tailoring learning to each child's strengths. If you're ready to take full ownership of your kids’ education, this conversation is for you. Stop sending your kids to Caesar and being surprised when they come back as Romans.
Topics covered: why homeschool, Christian homeschooling, public school vs homeschool, homeschool socialization myth, family unit, deprogramming the school mindset, raising free thinkers, homeschool curriculum tips, faith-based parenting, homeschooling mistakes and lessons learned

Welcome back to our living room. In Episode 3, Patrick and Gabrielle share how they left Washington for Texas in 2021. A toxic job, COVID-era chaos, a new baby, and their closest friends moving away all set the dominoes falling. Then came a kitchen table "hear me out": what if we visit our friends in Weatherford and just don't come back?
They talk about crossing the Texas border and knowing they were home, finding a rental by chance, getting "adopted" by eight sets of grandparents on their new street, and feeling the fear lift. Gabrielle also opens up about a health collapse that put her on bed rest, the practitioner who helped bring her back, and how the hard seasons showed them they no longer fit the 9 to 5.
They wrap up with raising kids on a grass-fed beef ranch, choosing real food, and building their own future in Texas.

Welcome back to our living room. In Episode 2, Patrick and his wife Gabrielle pick up where the wedding left off and dig into Gabrielle's journey with food, faith, health, and motherhood. She admits she could not cook when they got married (the chicken pot pie that nearly set their first house on fire is proof), shares how a middle school home ec project sparked a lifelong love of cooking, and explains how that passion became Gabbi's Kitchen, a recipe blog, even after her dream of cooking school was set aside.
Just weeks after launching the blog in 2013, at 23 years old, Gabrielle contracted a severe case of E. coli, spent a week in the hospital fighting for her life, and began a 12-year road to heal her gut. The couple also share being rear-ended at eight months pregnant, a 22-hour natural labor, the arrival of their daughter Ava (a fighter from her very first minutes), and why Gabrielle learned to trust her God-given mom intuition over all the outside voices. Plus, Patrick tells the paternity leave joke that left a coworker speechless.
The episode wraps with how a move to Texas, a hard season of job loss, and a friend's sourdough lesson brought Gabbi's Kitchen back to life as a home cottage bakery. The big takeaway: listen to your gut. The passions God puts in you early on are worth paying attention to, even if it takes 20 years to come back around to them. Next episode: our last days in Washington and our leap of faith to Texas.
