If you’ve ever found yourself wondering if building an online business is any different than just starting a business…the answer is YES and this episode is for you.
If you're tuning into this podcast then I’m gonna assume that you are interested in taking your coaching business online. And so, you may also be wondering what exactly does building my business online involve?
I’ll be breaking down the main differences and highlighting some things about digital marketing that may still be a mystery to you.
These days it’s rare for a business not to have some kind of online presence. But to me, what differentiates building an online business from any other type of business…is really the marketing methods you use to find new clients.
A trap I see many new coaches fall into is that they believe if they simply build a website, have a social media presence that people will just find them and come knocking on their virtual door…unfortunately it’s not usually that simple. Generally people won't just stumble upon your website and your amazing coaching services until you create ways for them to learn you exist. Those ways are typically creating marketing systems & channels…think facebook, tiktok, podcasts, ads...that help your clients find you.
I know coaches who have built AMAZING businesses based soley on referrals and others who primarily use networking, in person or online to build. They may still have some online presence but that’s not the primary source of finding new clients. These strategies are awesome but I don’t believe that networking or referrals as a sole means of marketing is truly scalable…because If I stop networking or showing up and asking for referals my source of leads dries up.
