Bamboo plantations have been echoed by the residents of Budalangi to curb soil erosion along the river banks as well as reducing the speed at which water moves in time of flooding. This is facilitated by the government and Non governmental originations despite few challenges here and there from the community that seems to be an obstacle for the full implementation.

Lake backflow has directly and indirectly affected fishing activities within beaches along lake Victoria in Busia county since the year 2020. Musoma  beach is not exceptional hence the only incoming activity affected due to human activities and the climate change as the community at large seen looking forward to cope with the changes in climate.
