Marcia Squier, a Michigan citizen, joins the Desmond Taylor Podcast to discuss running for United States Senate. Marcia’s key focuses are getting “big money” out of politics and ceasing tax loopholes/bailouts for large corporations. Marcia does not just “talk the talk”; she “walks the walk.” This is Marcia's third attempt at becoming a legislator. In her first run she got 4000 votes. In her second run she placed 3rd - with 40,000 votes. In her second campaign she was able to increase her votes by tenfold, while collecting less than $4,500 to campaign.
During the conversation that lasted more than two hours, which had to be edited due to microphone/production issues, the pair talked about making advances in education, economics, and human living. They also chatted about deregulation, toxic personalities, taxation, and driving stick - for some reason. She uses a small slogan that goes “Say my name three times then vote for me; Marcia, Marcia, Marcia.”(That is a Brandy Bunch reference, youngsters.)
