As we continue to examine and exposit Psalm 73, we watch as Asaph starts to shift the focus of his thoughts away from this temporal, present world that is causing him to fall into self-pity, bitterness and despair. Instead, Asaph begins to consider the concept of eternity and the promises of God and his goodness. It is here where he finds sanctuary, and as he draws nearer still to the Lord with a posture of gratitude and worship, Asaph's heart is revived, his blindness is reversed and his joy is re-established.
