The last year really threw us all for a loop. It really put some things in perspective for me - even the fact that I was wholly unprepared for disaster. Are you prepared for impact? Because it's not an IF, but it's a WHEN.

Those of us who have the luxury and are able; shouldn’t be giving our power away. Once we start radically taking personal responsibility for our own lives is the moment we can create our own reality. But that also means being responsible and learning how to prepare for impact. (And, by the way - when those of us who are able do this, we create *more* space for resources to go to those who are not.)

Get motivated, and shift your mindset about how you prepare for impact. It might be time to rearrange some priorities!

From the conception of my business, I have been asked multiple times over the years if I accept male clients and I've always had the same answer - a hard and definite "No, never".

But over the years I have began to reevaluate my thinking after being asked so many times; and then recently I was asked if my reasoning was coming from a valid place- or if it's coming from my own past experiences and limiting beliefs about working with men.

This was a moment where I had to sit myself down and really evaluate if I was allowing these thoughts to continue to hold me back in my life (and business).

Y'ALL. This got nuts. It started out with me examining the hurt and betrayal that I've been through with women in the last 2 years, and it lead me to a conclusion (that then lead to more): The people who I was hurt by all had one thing in common - they didn't have a GOOD group of female friendships. (Two out of these three have told me this from their own mouths).

It got me thinking a lot the last few weeks about how female friendships play a crucial role in our lives, and why they are so important.

And then, we talked about the why women speaking badly about one another.... and I go off on a rant.

NEW YEAR, NEW ME.

Well, not quite y'all. You're still the same you. But I know with New Years resolutions comes lots of pressure to "get in shape", and "lose weight", but is that really how it's supposed to be? Take the DIET out of eating, and figure out what your body really needs!

From bed ridden to abundant energy, what happened to snap me out of the mindset of needing to be a certain weight/size, and how I now view what I put in my mouth as a determination of wellness - or illness!

Is what you're doing serving your body to help keep it healthy and well? Or is it on the fast track to illness, disease, and YUCK? When you start viewing your habits as health living and not just a number on a scale or your pant size, it takes on a whole new meaning- and is more motivating.  Get out of that mindset of "dieting" for aesthetics, and do it for HEALTH.

I've realized I played it SUPER small and dimmed my light in 2019. How I realized this, what I did about it, and my encouragement to you.

Mindset work is a constant journey, and you have to stay on top of it! I let myself slip into self doubt - not only in my personal life but in my business. I backed myself into a corner. Until I had several people reach out to me in the span of a month and restore my faith in my calling and what I KNEW I was meant to do. I was being borderline disrespectful to the people I am called to help by not being ME.

Don't do what I did. Don't wait around for someone to give your permission or to validate you. Get off your ass and go DO IT.

I've been hearing a lot of hubalub this Holiday season about it being "draining" being around family - but what happened to compassion? Some of my best memories with my Gigi were "draining", but I did it anyway because guess what - lots of stuff in life is draining and inconvenient. (I don't know about you, but those darn kids can be exhausting -lol). And guess what? Those are some of my GREATEST memories.

Sometimes, we just have to do it anyway. One, because sometimes that's just flat out being part of an adult... and two - because what are we REALLY bargaining for when we don't do the hard stuff?

My other theory is this: we have gotten so into the buzz words lately of "self-care" and "aligned" and "the right energy", that we have almost created a sense of entitlement. We choose to bury our head in the sand, or just simply not show up so we don't have to "deal" with people or things. But we come across uncomfortable situations every single day, and it's what builds character- and often times create greatness.

There ARE toxic situations where we are totally allowed to set boundaries and distance ourselves. But this episode might help you determine: Is it really so horribly draining that it's actually "toxic", or do we need to choose compassion in this instance? Better yet, how can YOU be the light to some difficult or hurting family members this season?
