First of all, the DetBlock team would like to introduce it's newest prisoner, Prisoner 005: Ben Ken-Bogie!  With all of the chaotic things life likes to throw at us all, getting a full DetBlock crew together has been a little challenging.  However, Bogie has graciously accepted the opportunity to join in on our #podcasst and #YouTube channel to talk #StarWars!  Get to know Bogie and his passion for Star Wars through this episode and be prepared to see him join us in future recordings!  Thus, we look to dive into Ben's passion for and knowledge of Star Wars in his first episode.  Look at this as a little Get-To-Know-You.

Following that, the three of them look to pay homage to and speak praises of the late and great James Earl Jones, the voice behind our beloved Darth Vader.  Even though its week old news, the release of his passing still holds very heavy to Star Wars and #movie / #film fans alike.  No #villain  will ever be as iconic as the one James Earl Jones brought to life.

The DetBlock Crew want to take the time to highlight a YouTuber they recently found who brings great satire to not only Star Wars projects, but many other major movie franchise projects.  For today's episode, they watch Pitch Meeting's piece on Star Wars: The Acolyte.  Mike has seen this before but this is Dustin's first time watching.  Both were laughing hysterically throughout the video.  Mike's face might still be red.  Make sure to go give Pitch Meeting a sub!

Following that, they spend a little more time on talking about the Acolyte, but then shift over to talking about the newly released game, Star Wars: Outlaws.  Lots of mixed reviews on the project, but people are overall enjoying it!  Though the price point is expensive, both Mike and Dustin are eager to get the game and give it a whirl.

We have another trailer!  Mike looks to provide a trailer reaction video for the recently released official Star Wars: Outlaws Launch trailer.  Without previously watching it, Mike gives his initial reactions and insight for the trailer.  The game will be released to the public on August 20th.  Look for it to be available on  PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X & Series S, and Microsoft Windows.

On top of that, there was some big news as it relates to The Acolyte.  You've probably already heard the news, but Mike has some frustrations about it.  And it's probably now what you think...

Is it true that Kathleen Kennedy is looking for a "win" before she retires from LucasFilm?  Whether that is true or not, Mike and Dustin explore that aspect and talk about what that all means.  Is she really looking to retire?  Does she feel like none of the projects under her have been considered big wins?  Does her upcoming expiring contract play into this at all?  Come listen to what the DetBlock Crew have to say.

On top of that, Dustin and Mike talk a little bit about the Skeleton Crew trailer and their thoughts of that upcoming show so far.  Leading up to it, there's a better awareness of what to expect from it.  Does this help open it up for more success and more interest?

Finally, and as a little plug, go give  @popcornroulettereactions a little looksy into the content they are providing.  Even though it expands beyond Star Wars for the movies they watch, they look to bring you their live reactions with their first time viewings of films.  Mike tuned into Coby, from Popcorn Roulette, as she watched the original trilogy of #StarWars followed by the prequel trilogy.  Watching those restored some of Mike's faith in the Star Wars franchise as new fans still experience the impact, shock and awe that the first 6 films brought.  It's just a reminder that, damn... those are GREAT films.  Go give them a watch!

Happy 3 Year Anniversary to DetBlock!  Three years ago today [Aug. 9, 2021], the Crew recorded their first episode!

First of all, Detention Block AA-23 are two days away from hitting their 3 year anniversary from recording their very first episode!  Come give them some love by hitting that subscribe button on their YouTube channel, download that podcast episode, along with that like button and bringing them some reviews!  They've enjoyed every minute of bringing #StarWars fans content.

With initial releases of Star Wars: Outlaws coming out, along with some game play videos and initial reactions, the DetBlock Crew look to bring you some of their initial opinions of everything for the game.  They haven't touched the game at all; but, there is plenty of content currently out there to have some thoughts.
