  • Exploring the history of racism in science and its ongoing repercussions with Angela Saini

In this podcast, we discuss Angela’s most recent book, Superior, which explores the existence of racism in science and how science is often used to support a certain position.  We reflect on the impact of the killing of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement on public awareness, as well as some of the reasons why people from Black and Asian backgrounds have been disproportionately affected by the COVID pandemic.

  • Incremental teaching innovations resulting in big enhancements with Dr Kevin Hamill

In this podcast, we hear about a number of innovations that have been applied in the Department of Eye and Vision Science to enhance the PGR experience.  We explore the changes that have been made to support student learning and the impact of these changes for the students and staff located in the department.  We hope this podcast will support you to reflect upon your personal practice and any developments that could be made to your teaching to support the student experience.
