Hello guys! Welcome back to another episode of the Hockey Talk with TG Podcast! In this episode, I break down another wild night of NHL action — from Nikita Kucherov’s overtime heroics to Jack Hughes’ dominance and Macklin Celebrini’s clutch performance in San Jose. We’re covering everything from coast to coast in what was a statement Sunday across the league. We start in Tampa Bay, where Nikita Kucherov scored just 32 seconds into overtime to lift the Lightning to a 2–1 win over the Vegas Golden Knights. One night after tallying his 1,000th career point, Kucherov created the entire play himself, forcing a turnover and finishing a 2-on-1 rush with Brandon Hagel. Hagel snapped his scoring drought with a two-point night, while Andrei Vasilevskiy picked up his first win of the season, stopping 18 of 19 shots. Vegas rookie Carl Lindbom impressed in his NHL debut, making 26 saves and earning praise from coach Bruce Cassidy despite the loss. Then we head to Newark, where Jack Hughes continued his red-hot start, scoring twice — including the overtime winner — in the Devils’ 4–3 victory over the Colorado Avalanche. Hughes’ 9th career OT goal moved him past Scott Niedermayer for 2nd all-time in New Jersey history, trailing only Patrik Elias. The Devils have now won eight straight games, their longest streak since 2022–23. Jake Allen earned his fifth straight win in goal, and even with injuries on defense, the Devils proved they can adapt and dominate.Out west, the San Jose Sharks grabbed their second 6-5 overtime victory during their 4-game road trip over the Minnesota Wild. Sharks forward phenom Macklin Celebrini scored the game-winner and posted a three-point night, extending his point streak to four games. William Eklund also had a big night with two goals and an assist, while Michael Misa netted his first career NHL goal. Despite goals from Ryan Hartman and Marcus Johansson, the Wild have now lost six of their last seven.Meanwhile, the Utah Mammoth continue to prove they’re for real, defeating the Winnipeg Jets 3–2 behind Dylan Guenther’s late game-winning goal and Vitek Vanecek’s strong 28-save performance. Utah has now won seven straight, moving to 8–2–0 on the year, and their blue line continues to contribute offensively. We’ll also touch on other key results around the league — from the Kings taking down the Blackhawks, to the Flames snapping their eight-game losing streak against the Rangers, and the Stars’ comeback win over Nashville. Plus, we preview what’s ahead for Tuesday’s massive NHL Frozen Frenzy, and preview the matchups for Monday (Blues vs. Penguins and Bruins vs. Senators). So sit back, relax, and enjoy the episode!DON’T FORGET to FOLLOW the Hockey Talk with TG Podcast on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeart Radio, and SUBSCRIBE to our YouTube channel.
