Despite a strong first period, the Devils shot themselves in the foot multiple times in a game where there were too many costly mistakes to live with. The losing streak is at 4 games going into Brooklyn on Sunday, with the bye "week" looming.

The Devils put forth a stronger effort following their loss in Washington D.C. but in the end it wasn't enough, as St. Louis took the extra point in the shootout. Despite erasing two seperate one-goal deficits, the Devils couldn't break through. Even when it looked like Jesper Bratt scored the go-ahead goal in the third, it was ruled offsides.
