Though there were positives to take from Thursday's game against the Oilers, the Devils ultimately fell 3-2 in overtime to Edmonton. With the loss, their current losing streak moves to four games, as the team now has just one more home game before setting off on a tough Western Conference road trip.

Cory Schneider was excellent playing in his old arena, but there were a lot of additional storylines in what was a real team victory. We'll break down the win and look at some of the standout performances.

Neither win was pretty as a whole, but the Devils found a way to win two home games in back-to-back days over the Ottawa Senators and Arizona Coyotes. After blowing a late-game 4-2 lead over the Sens, the Devils used the shootout to their advantage once again to defeat Ottawa for the second time this season.

Then, on Saturday, the Devils traded goalie Scott Wedgewood to the Coyotes for a 5th round pick after activating Cory Schneider from the IR. Schneider got the win as the Devils used some third period heroics to complete the weekend.
