One of the most highly anticipated days on the NHL calendar is finally here. Noon on July 1 marks the beginning of the free agent signing period.

The Devils are fresh off of a big trade to bring Taylor Hall to New Jersey, but they'll need to address their defense in the wake of losing Adam Larsson.

Less than 24 hours after the Devils traded Adam Larsson to the Oilers for Taylor Hall, Dave and Jeff take a deeper look at the move and what it means for the team going forward.

The Devils announced some RFA qualifying offers on Monday afternoon, with Reid Boucher, Jacob Josefson, Sergei Kalinin, Kyle Palmieri and Reece Scarlett all being given offers.

Those who were not are Devante Smith-Pelly, Jon Merrill, Raman Hrabaranka and Beau Bennett. The Devils still expect to get deals done with all of those players before free agency begins on July 1.

Then we'll dip back into the draft to take a longer look at who the Devils came away with in in the first three rounds, with the next four coming on Wednesday.
