Matthew 24 primarily focuses on the signs leading up to Jesus' return, the importance of being prepared, and the need to remain alert, ready and faithful for his return. With the statement "...no one knows the day or hour..." Jesus directs the disciples' thinking to the issue of when.

In Matthew 24:15 Jesus speaks of the 'Abomination of Desolation'. Was Jesus referring to the fall of Jerusalem in 70AD or a future abomination still to be fulfilled?
