Phileo love is brotherly love
Sisterhood is a kindred spirit who goes beside you.
It is a true blessing and gift to be used to pour into someone and also to be poured into. we are experiencing phileo love when we do this.
Sisterhood is used to sharpen us relationally and individually. we learn compassion, how to receive, love, encourage, forgive and so much more. a true example of iron sharpening iron.
Sisters are needed, there is so much of life only a sister can relate to and walk beside us in. It is a need the Lord knew we would need from each other.
Hardship is very real in sisterhood; relationships between women come with their own challenges. we have to work hard and be conscious to not allow hurts to fester or past hurts to be brought into our current relationship.
When jealousy, comparison or competition arise, we need to be open with ourselves in front of the Lord. pause and acknowledge, then let the Lord do some heart searching to bring healing, correction, and good fruit.
Allow the Lord to defend the relationship He has provided, by letting Him have the room and time to defend you in your sister's heart or defend your sister in your heart. removing all expectations.
Loving ourselves allows us to love others better!
God shows no favoritism.
The Lord will use any season to allow us to see His unending love for others. giving us compassion, understanding, and grace. It is easier to not feel competition or comparison when you are sitting in a more humble place. Choosing to Celebrate instead!
learning how the body of Christ operates, helps us to appreciate how different everyone is, why God made us so different!
Understanding there are different seasons for friendships, is helpful to take the pressure off and helps God to move fluidly through friendships.
Everything is not all about "me"
It is important to walk forgiveness and grace. showing grace and being quick to forgive...including showing yourself the same.
Grieve, allow yourself to grieve friendships, and the going of seasons. reflect from a place of thankfulness.
Invest in one another with honesty and grace.
Every woman in the church is a sister, we do not have to like every sister, but we are called to love everyone.
The Lord calls sisters into our lives sometimes we may not like, but He has a deep purpose in this. We may be called to speak into them or them into us!
If Jesus can love your sister and find her worthy to suffer for her- LIKE HE DID YOU- so can you.
Ruth and Naomi
a beautiful example of sisterhood, filled with sacrifice, service, suffering, love, and God's blessed hand in relationship. they also exemplify pouring into a younger and an older woman.
Looking at daughters as sisters in Christ can shift perspective, bring deeper relationship, and exemplify Godly sisterhood.
All the beautiful things that happen in a home is the same kinds of things He asks for us to cultivate in the church family. we are all working toward a common goal.
