Are you a hurried person?  Do you need to slow down?  To get rid of hurry doesn’t mean to simply cross things off our to-do list. We eliminate hurry when we prioritize our life properly.  Are you willing to do that?

Are you living as a disciple of Christ?  Living as disciples of Christ requires that you fully embrace His identity as God, and then go and reflect Him to the world around you.

We cannot follow Jesus in a rush.  We can’t think what He would think, do what He would do, or feel what He would feel in a hurry.  Hurry keeps us from living to our fullest and loving to our fullest.  If you want to follow Jesus, you need to periodically slow down enough to actually follow Him. 
Can you be still, for just a moment, and know that He is God?

Conclude your time in prayer today.  Talk with the Lord about how He might want to use you as a loved and chosen disciple.

As disciples of Christ, we are learning to base our identities on Jesus.  Our goal is to become more and more like Jesus as we purposely follow Him and walk in His footsteps.

Jesus calls His followers to pursue one thing in life.  He calls us to seek His kingdom and His righteousness above all else.  When we do that, we are enabled to allow the pursuit of Him - of knowing Him, loving Him, and seeking His kingdom - to dominate our thoughts, actions, and words.  

But most of us have divided loyalties.  We seek the Lord one moment, but seek our own desires the next.  While we want to do one thing, we say or do the opposite.  This double-mindedness prevents us from living the life we want to live.

His use of this phrase “in the Lord” points to the unity believers have in Christ.  Because all believers are “in Christ,” all believers are in Christ together. This isn’t to say that there won’t be conflicts or disagreements between believers - even seasoned and mature Christians.  Euodia and Syntyche had “labored side by side” with Paul (v3).  We don’t know the nature of the disagreement between the two ladies, but we should see by his plea to them in a public letter to the whole church that any break in unity among believers was no small matter.

To experience the peace of God, far more wonderful than the human mind can understand, we are told to refuse to worry about anything.  Why is this what we must do in order to experience the peace of God?  Because worry is the #1 thing that can steal your peace.  Financial trouble?   Don’t worry about  anything.  Anxious about the kids?  Don’t worry about  anything.  Stressed about work?   Don’t worry about  anything.  Concerned about marriage or relationship troubles? Don’t worry about  anything.  Worried about health or weight?  Don’t worry about  anything.  There is no exception given in this verse.  It doesn’t say don’t worry about anything, except for maybe money.. or health.. or work.  No!  It  says “Don’t worry about anything.”
