Shuの古い友人であるKentaの登場です。ロサンゼルスからDDDに出演してくれました。

Kentaは日本に100%フィットできない自分に気づいていたようです。高校卒業後単身で渡米し、これまでずっとアメリカで生活していました。

レイシズムや危険な体験も乗り越え、アメリカの大自然、ユニークな人々にフィットしたKentaはアメリカで居心地が良さそうです。日本には戻るつもりはないと明言する彼ですが、彼のアイデンティティは日本にあるのです。

Kentaが日本を離れ、アメリカで生きることを選んだのはなぜだったのか。

また、Kentaはどうやって8年間もアメリカで単身でsurviveできたのか。そこには苦悩と勇気、ポジティブさとレジリエンスがありました。日本人が海外に移住し、暮らしやっていくためのエッセンスが詰まったエピソードです。

◆Description

Kenta, an old friend of Shu’s, appears in this episode. Kenta has been living in the U.S for more than 9 years. Growing up, he sensed that he didn’t fully fit into Japanese culture. Thus, after graduating from high school - a mere teenager at the time - he left Japan. Living on his own in a foreign country, Kenta encountered racism and life-threatening events. Overcoming all of these, he now seems truly relaxed in the States. He may have found his place to settle down, surrounded by beautiful nature and friendly people.

In the episode, he explained to us the reason why he chose to leave Japan for the U.S. at such a young age. In addition, he told us how he survived living alone in a foreign country. This is the story of a man with immense courage, positivity, and resilience.
