Hormones in the intestine have proven to play an important role in managing type 2 diabetes, as well as regulating growth and function of the beta cell and the intestinal tract. But what does all of that mean for those living with the condition?

On this episode Dr. Patricia Brubaker discusses her work with glucagon-like peptides. Dr. Brubaker is a Professor in the department of Physiology at the University of Toronto and a Canada Research Chair in Vascular and Metabolic Biology.

She is also the 2020 winner of the Diabetes Canada Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding contribution to diabetes research.
