Welcome to the third webinar in the monthly Dialogue & Debate series from Cumberland Lodge.
We will be exploring some of the most significant recent developments in the way we live and organise our societies, in the UK and around the world, and discussing lessons we can learn in terms of finding common values, both now and in the future.
This month's webinar will feature the cross-bench peer and Anglican priest, Lord Green (former UK Trade & Investment Minister, former Group Chair of HSBC, and author of books including The Human Odyssey: East, West and the Search for Universal Values) and the economist and broadcaster Professor Linda Yueh (Fellow in Economics at the University of Oxford, Adjunct Professor Economics at London Business School, a former Chief Business Correspondent at the BBC, and author of books including The Great Economists: How Their Ideas Can Help Us Today).
Key themes
In Lord Green's The Human Odyssey (2019), he talks about how 'the long human odyssey of self-discovery has reached a crucial stage', where 'everything we do affects everyone and everything else - and we know it'. This will form the basis for our discussion, from both a geopolitical and socio-economic perspective.
This webinar will be broadcast live from Cumberland Lodge at 11am on 5 March 2020. It will be presented by our Chief Executive, Edmund Newell.
