Diana Sayed, is the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Muslim Women’s Centre for Human Rights. In this interview you will hear Diana’s strength and advocacy for gender equality, domestic violence, social justice and human rights. She is intelligent, carries global knowledge, she is savvy, articulate and we could have talked with her for hours. She walks us through her personal story as a refugee, from her parents courageous journey from Afghanistan to Delhi to Australia, growing up in Perth, realising her aspiration of being a human rights lawyer to her CEO role. We loved Diana’s catch phrase of not needing to be a model migrant, sticking to a lane – but respectfully challenging, advocating and envisioning a better Australia. Please enjoy this passionate and purposeful leadership of Diana Sayed.
