04/07/2022 journal entry: They say to parents be friends with your children and they’ll tell you more things about their lives. Let’s be honest though, there’s a lot of things are parents shouldn’t need to know about us. Like our extravagant night lives, sex lives, or just anything that doesn’t make us look like that 5 year old kid we used to be in their eyes. Even when they want us to spend quality time with them but we have a busy plate ourselves. So in the words of whatever advisor who told parents to try and be friends with us, should we be trying to befriend our parents, or just be a secret enemy ninja?

dream college experience vs the reality of college.

when in college, we tend to worry about 3 things:

parties

finding the one

And trying to get up for those 8:30 classes

Being in college is suppose to be the best four years of a students life. Personally I thought that would be high school, clearly I was wrong. Even though the college experience we see in the movies and tv shows look lit as hell, the reality of it can somewhat be the same if we make it that way. But then again none of us wanna wake up for those 8:30 - 9 o’clock classes or do those late night classes. So I guess what I’m trying to say is, Is college worth it? Or the right decision for everyone??

entry from 2/10/22. “Love is a funny word to use. We say I love you to family, friends, significant others, even our pets. And only on one specific day of the year we have to commercialize it. the 20s are a prime time to find love and try to define it, even if we don’t know what real love is yet, while some think we do and others are going from person to person. With valentines day around the corner, I couldn’t help but wonder are people are age still falling in love? Or are we just looking for someone to get lucky with? Mainly, what does real love look like to us?”

remember when you were young and the teacher would ask you what do you wanna be when you grow up? some would say astronaut, others would say police officer. me back then I wanted to be a dolphin trainer. but that was almost 15 years ago, I’m 20 years old and still wondering what I want to be when I grow up (aka get my degree and find a job I love doing.) to be one of the most important years of my life are also kind of the hardest because I have no idea what I should be doing. so it had me thinking, is it ok to still want the dreams I wanted as a child? Or should I grow up like Peter Pan should’ve all those years ago? Welcome to the series premiere of just another teen life crisis! in this episode we talk about who we are and figuring it all out.
