Diary Of A Healing Woman

I stumbled across an old journal entry today from December 5th, 2021. It’s now the last day of June 2022. I wanted to share this entry because it really touches on a lot of personal medicine I’ve gathered from my journey through navigating an awakening, being homeless, & having diabetic complications. This was one of the hardest points of my life. As I reflect on the many twists & turns of that part of my journey, I’m so incredibly proud of myself for my ability to return to a state of optimism & clear vision. Join me in the mountains of Santa Fe amongst the birds & the trees as we dive deeper into the energy of the upcoming season of Spring. Entry 11 is so extremely dear to my heart. I had the privilege of working with this extremely intelligent little 5 year old on & off the last few years. I’ve come to develop a deep love for her & her sisters. She has taught me some great lessons, some of which are captured in this interview with her. Kids are so much smarter than we give them credit for!

Entry 11 includes an interview style conversation with miss Alia, who answers the following questions:

What does it mean to see from the heart?

What does it mean to be a strong lady?

What message do the unicorns have for us?

Entry 7 is an interview style entry with the lovely being Ekko Tes, whom I met shortly after recording my last entry at a beach drum circle in Florida.

It is an expression of raw feelings surrounding the sometimes intense experiences that one navigates through the worlds of coming out to a religious family who wasn’t supportive; testing the waters of gender identification; & dealing with depression/schizophrenia at a young age. Entry 5, in honor of the full moon in Aquarius, is raw, vulnerable, & highly charged with the emotions that come with grief, endings, & death along with stories of healing, empowerment, & transmutation.

It is a combination of personal stories that offer insight on how I moved to Sedona, then Florida, then North Carolina to become a traveling type 1 diabetic; the other side to being intentionally “homeless”; saying goodbye to a beloved pet familiar; & why I cut my hair shorter than it’s ever been in the last 13 years.

Entry 5 dives into topics such as how our guardians influence our beliefs about ourselves & the world; how to get over a break up/betrayal & the importance of acceptance; & the importance of honoring grief rather than suppressing it.

It is a series of reflections surrounding the power of honoring each culture rather than comparing; of saying yes to the unknown; & of being immersed in one’s surroundings as a traveler.

It is a beautiful collection of voices from those who walk among us in our community, rather than the voices of professionals or “gurus”. I wanted to capture the authentic street flavor of people who drew my attention for this question.

Entry 3 touches on subjects such as coming out to unsupportive parents, feeling accepted/supported by friend groups when switching pronouns & what that looks like, & how to embody self confidence in a way that comes from within rather than from external validation.

This episode will be especially helpful for those who struggle with accepting their sexuality bc of parental shame!
