Dear Diary,

I know this might sound strange, even dramatic, but I think I’ve just had my heart broken.

Twice.

In less than two months.

Last night, reality finally knocked on my door.

Whispering, It’s over.

Truly, finally over.

We had a long call, words exchanged, and silence that said even more.

There’s no “us” anymore.

There never really was.

We weren’t friends.

Maybe we never were.

I feel used, Diary.

Stripped of something I can’t quite name.

I blame myself, for feeling too much, for letting my heart think in place of my brain.

That first kiss, the way our fingers laced like promises…

I regret letting it all happen.

I let him touch the parts of me I guard from the world, and now I feel hollow.

I thought it was love.

I thought he was love.

A soulmate.

A forever.

A home.

But I was wrong.

So painfully wrong.

Now, everything reminds me of him.

His voice echoes in the silence I used to enjoy.

I haven’t cried, but the tears sit there, waiting.

My chest aches, my heart is stubborn, it doesn’t want to let go.

Still, I must.

I have to.

Even if I can’t erase all the memories, I can choose to stop feeding them.

I’m grateful for one thing, he showed me what love could feel like, even if it wasn’t meant to last.

We were prayer partners, secret keepers, best friends in our best moments.

Maybe our paths will cross again. Maybe they won’t.

But for now, Diary...

It’s goodbye. Goodbye, lover.

SHADOWS OF LOVE


The world feels quieter now that you're gone,
A silence so deep, it weighs on my soul.
In my solitude, I find no peace,
Just echoes of moments that will never increase.
You were the voice in my most quiet days,
Now all that remains is the simple space.
I retreat to the corners where we once shared,
Conversation, whispers, memorie, tears.
But without you, the silence is cold not kind
A hollow reminder of what's left behind
I have never needed much, just you by my side
Now even in the stillness, there's nowhere to hide.
Grief has a way of creeping inside,
Filling the spaces where love used to reside,
I long for your presence, your gentle embrace
But all I have now is time and this space.
I sit in my loneliness heavy and slow,
wishing for a way to let you know
Though I am used to the quiet, this silence is new
A world without you, is a world torn in two
I hold on to memories fragile yet dear
But nothing can bring back the voice I long to hear
Now I live in the echoes, the shadows of love,
Searching for peace in the silence above.

THE FEAR OF BEING SEEN

The thought of stepping into the light again,
Where eyes can find me, where I cannot hide,
Brings a wave of panic that tightens my chest,
Anxiety ripping like a current beneath my skin.
To reenter the world feels like walking on glass,
Each step fragile, each glance reminds me of being exposed.

Being seen is more than just a simple gaze—
It’s vulnerability.
I wear my masks like armor in the crowd,
Smiling when needed, nodding at the right time.
Yet beneath it all, there’s a tremble in my soul,
For they see the mask, but not the cracks underneath.

How often I’ve pretended, played the part, their part
Exhausted by the effort of fitting into the fold, a clueless misfit.
Every conversation a performance, every word rehearsed,
Leaving me drained and hollowed out.
There’s a price to pretending, one too steep to pay,
But what choice is there when hiding feels like safety?

Sometimes, it’s easier to fade into the shadows,
To be invisible, unseen, untouched by the world’s gaze.
For to show my true self is to open a door
To judgement, to misunderstanding and hurt.
And so I stay hidden, behind my carefully built walls,
Wondering if one day, I’ll have the courage to let them fall.
