DIASPORA TALES episodes

  • Tarik Saleh

Tarik Saleh joins The Diaspora Tales for a conversation about identity, belonging, and the power of stories to confront the world. Between cultures, across borders, and beyond the versions of ourselves others expect us to inhabit, what does it take to claim your own voice?

We explore the tension between where we come from and who we choose to become, the memories we carry, the loyalties that pull us in different directions, and the moments when silence is no longer an option. What happens when the place you call home sees you as a stranger? And who gets to tell your story?

A conversation about the past that follows us, the worlds that shape us, and the courage to tell a story on your own terms, even when it challenges everything you were expected to be.

  • Intro episode Behnaz & Parasto
Behnaz Aram and Parasto Backman, two creatives brought together by a shared belief in the power of stories, culture, and human connection. With backgrounds in fashion, art, and cultural production, we have both seen how identity can be shaped by more than one place. We started Diaspora Tales as an independent platform to make space for voices and experiences often left between borders. Through conversations with artists, creatives, and cultural voices from around the world, we explore movement, memory, identity, and belonging and build bridges between cultures, generations, and communities.
