Before that, he spent decades designing and building video games like Torchlight, Rebel Galaxy, and Fate. Apparently, he now also writes books. He lives in the Pacific Northwest with his very patient family and their small, nervous dog.

David Mack is the New York Times bestselling author of more than 36 novels of science fiction, fantasy, and adventure. His writing credits span several media, including television (for episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), games, and comic books. He has worked as a consultant for Star Trek: Prodigy, and in June of 2022 the International Association of Media Tie-in Writers honored him as a Grandmaster with its Faust Award. He resides in New York City.

He is the author of more than thirty books, most recently multiverse adventures Doors of Sleep and Prison of Sleep. His stories have appeared at Tor.com, Lightspeed, Clarkesworld, Asimov's, and other nice places. He's a senior editor and occasional book reviewer at Locus, the magazine of the science fiction and fantasy field.
