Did You Ever See?

LAST ACTION HERO needs some defending. It was panned upon release, cost too much, made very little back, Arnie thought his career was over. And even now, action movie fans are divided on this film. Phil and Mike are big fans, and so is their guest. Join us as we geek out over this messy action-comedy epic, and also as we pay our (belated) respects to Joel Schumacher.--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/slasher-movie-podcast-now/messageSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasher-movie-podcast-now/support

It's time for another Top 5 episode. This time: Worst Characters Ever - in an action movie, of course. Phil and Mike discuss what makes a character BAD, but not a villain. A lot of times it comes down to "who annoys me in this movie?" 1982's CONAN THE BARBARIAN is where it all started. It's the moment weight-lifting juggernaut Arnold Schwarzenegger started on the road to super movie star. Directed by John Millius - a genuinely insane person - CONAN THE BARBARIAN is a big, violent, nasty love-letter to the sword-and-sandal genre. And Michael and Phillip are all too eager to dig in.Enjoy!--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/slasher-movie-podcast-now/messageSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasher-movie-podcast-now/support

On today's episode, we go back to the vault and review SIDEKICKS, a horrendous but sweet-natured kids action movie from the 90s. Starring Chuck Norris and Jonathan Brandis, this odd little movie tells the story of a young, bullied kid who fantasizes about killing people with the help of action movie "star" Chuck Norris. It also stars the always-unfunny Joe Piscopo as a series of racist characters. Buckle up, this movie is about to crash HARD.And remember to Rate & Review us on Apple Podcasts for a special shoutout at the end of an episode.--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/slasher-movie-podcast-now/messageSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasher-movie-podcast-now/support

This special episode is a bit of a bummer. Ian Holm, the great British actor who played Bilbo Baggins among other iconic roles, has passed. Phillip and Michael decided to try and pay their respects, and they do, but the jokes came along too. They aren't the best at processing grief correctly.--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/slasher-movie-podcast-now/messageSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slasher-movie-podcast-now/support
