Episode 33 of Did You See? brings you a light-hearted look at the week's news stories. We chat about the copious amounts of condoms ordered for the Toko Olympics and the comforting TV show, Best Home Cook. In particular, this was a week of zoom comedy: did Jackie Weaver have the authority in Handforth Parish Council's meeting? And why did a lawyer go to virtual court as a cat?
This is the only podcast that discusses Wall Street, Love Island, haggis adventures and leopards eating faces within a half hour. You're gonna love it.
It's a new year, a new lockdown and we're back talking about the things we've seen from home. Sophia introduces us to the world of doggy ice-cream, whilst Pippa is fascinated at how everyone can fall in love with chess from watching The Queen's Gambit. But it seems that all we've been doing recently is watching screens because Rose raves about the new series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK and Talin tells us about her wonderful experience watching Cornwall and Devon Walks With Julia Bradbury. Rouge... Give it a listen!
As we head out of another lockdown, there's still plenty of madness going on for us to report on. In the week where F1 Driver Romain Grosjean survived a terrifying crash, Pippa's found a new pumpkin friend on Facebook and Talin's been learning all about Finnish politics. Plus, self-checkout skullduggery and, like everyone else in the world, we've been gripped by The Crown.
So what do you think? Did someone accidentally book President Donald Trump's press conference at a DIY centre, or, are they trying to be down with the people? Talin gives us the ins and outs of the most Veep thing to not happen in Veep. Meanwhile, Pippa introduces us to an incident in the Netherlands involved a sculpture of two whales which feels movie worthy. And Rose rants and raves about the new series of His Dark Materials.
What would the world be like if pop superstar Ariana Grande became President of the United States? We analyse her latest music video, which is set in the White House... Is she giving Kanye a run for his money? Meanwhile, Rose tries to capture a proposal in Machu Picchu and a Canadian tourist returns stolen historical artefacts to Pompeii after claiming they cursed her. Tune in for the weird and wonderful stories you might have missed this week, but (almost) definitely need to hear.
In episode 27 we have a double dose of animal content - the otter who found a girlfriend after putting out a lonely hearts ad, plus the Beluga whales moving to Iceland from China on a custom made plane. There's also a double whammy on the career change theme - Pippa tells us about the government retraining quiz with questionable outcomes and Rose tells of a surprising new job for the actor who played Spider in School of Rock.
In the week where President Donald Trump tested positive for coronavirus, did you see everything that happened? Rose has the lowdown on the carrot art that was dropped outside Goldsmiths Uni, Pippa's setting things straight with the debate over whether Subway bread is cake or not. Plus Talin's telling us about the new jet packs being used by paramedics and Sophia uncovers a new campaign in the US by Democrats selling beauty blenders for Joe Biden.
In the week where the pubs got a 10pm curfew, did you see everything that happened? Rose has the lowdown on a medal winning rat sniffing out land mines in Cambodia, Pippa's noticed some odd new seasonal bouquets. Plus Talin is turning over a new social media leaf after watching Netflix's new documentary The Social Dilemma, and Sophia is tickled by the latest rules on covid-secure sex. And of course, we couldn't not talk about the return of our favourite programme, The Great British Bake Off.
Episode 24: This week Health Secretary Matt Hancock embarrassed himself on TV but it was actually kind of relatable, a Thai national park is threatening to post your litter back to you, and ex-husband and wife Brad Pitt and Jennifer Ansiton reunite for a steamy scene... in the name of charity. Plus we discuss the seven-hour Quantas flight which goes in a circle to avoid quarantine - is this the future of plane travel?
