What do First Contact Dietitians do in a PCN? w/ Rebecca Gasche RD
In 2020, dietitians started to join primary care and soon after the Roadmap to Practice was developed and we started to see the impact that dietitians could have in general practice. Rebecca has been one of these pioneering dietitians, breaking new ground. After completing her supplemental prescribing, she embarked on becoming a First Contact Dietitian. She has since become one of the first Health Education England-recognised First Contact Dietitians in the UK.

Should dietitians place NG tubes? feat. Sam Francis RD (Episode 8)
Sam Francis is a Specialist Stoke Dietitian who has extended his role to place nasogastric feeding tubes in patients. He has been pivotal in developing a new role in Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and expanding the role of the stoke dietitian. He works on a national level with the BDA neurosciences Stoke sub-group and inputting into national policies. He recently won the Rising Star Award in the 2021 United Kingdom Advancing Healthcare Awards for his work as Specialist Stroke Dietitian.

Sarcopenia, Malnutrition and Physical Activity feat. Stacy Jones RD (Episode 7)
Associate Professor; Curriculum Change Lead at Coventry University. Stacey has worked in academia for the past 6.5 years and, before that, working as a specialist community dietitian and a Public Health Specialist Dietitian. Stacey is undertaking a part-time PhD in the area of sarcopenia, looking at the role of the dietitian in preventing and managing sarcopenia in older adults. She has a passion for leading forward the profession of dietetics and evidence-based practice, striving for excellence in patient caretaking a holistic, patient-centred approach.
Stacey is a committee member of the BDA Older People Specialist Group and the EFAD Older Adults specialist network.
