We all know that cultural differences vary from country to country, but leadership styles can also differ across the continents. 

While the core skills remain the same, there have been a number of reports that suggest culture plays a role on what is viewed as a successful leader.

According to Research Professor Geert Hofstede, American leaders prefer an autonomous, individual leadership style; while European countries tend to practice a more balanced management style, focusing on the whole team rather than the individual.
