The featured album on the show is a remarkable collection of the work of UK band/collective PAZ which charts their recorded legacy. In addition there is a variety of music released in 2024 and some of the early releases from 2025.

Lots of bands new to me on this one including ones from the Greater Manchester area - it’s always good to support local grass-roots musicians. The usual clutch of great Australian music and towards the end of the show a dip into the archive for some old favourites. Variety is the watch word.

A feast of new releases for the penultimate programme of the year includes a selection of albums featuring emerging jazz vocalists. In addition trios make up a good part of the show demonstrating the versatility and impact of that formation of players. Also there is a variety of new music from exciting artists including two tracks from guitarist Doug MacDonald.

There are also some older examples of how to push the genre envelope, together with other new ground-breaking releases plus a newly unearthed live recording from blues legend B.B.King.
