About The Devil in the Castle
We often think of demons appearing only in extravagant and extraordinary manifestations or working only through “bad” people. But the truth is more frightening than that. Most demonic activity takes place undetected, under the radar, and can even be hidden in our own prayer lives and in the churches where we attend Mass. Subtlety, illusion, and deceit are the preferred tactics of Satan’s army of fallen angels, and they are waging an invisible battle for souls ― right now ― within and around us all.
With St. Teresa of Avila’s masterpiece The Interior Castle as his guide, bestselling author DAN BURKE takes you on an illuminating journey through the seven levels of spiritual progress, explaining what God is accomplishing within your soul at each stage, as well as the finely tailored demonic strategies applied to throw you off your path.
You’ll learn how the devil is as active in your prayer life as you are, and how the saints were able to counter Satan as he adapted his schemes to correspond with where they were on their spiritual journeys.
By discovering the myriad challenges St. Teresa faced and the remedies she employed to advance the spiritual progress of her soul, you’ll know precisely what to expect as you progress in your current state to your final spiritual destination. You’ll also learn:

Viktor Shvets' medicine for overcoming our greatest financial challenge in decades - record global debt - is daring and controversial: Forget about repaying the massive bill of as much as $500 trillion since this would lead inevitably to a collapse in asset prices, he says, from homes to 401(k) pension plans. The global economy is wedded to technology and "financialization" of everything from mortgages to esoteric corporate and consumer loans. The idea of old-fashioned lending practices with simpler pieces of notes and clear cut lenders is a dim memory. Loans today have been financialized with every part - from principle to interest - sliced and diced and sold off to multiple investors and traders. Viktor Shvets' ideas will have many skeptics and critics, including the host of this podcast, since the real price to be paid could be surrendering our personal sovereignty to state governments as the new path to "freedom."
But Shvets sees a future that can't be easily dismissed as a wild dream. For that reason, his new book is a fascinating study. Imagine that by the 2040s, Harvard College is shuttered, its hallowed halls impenetrably overgrown with miles of vines — closed for lack of demand in Ivy-League education. It’s just one jarring possibility suggested in Viktor Shvets’ thought-provoking deep-dive into the challenges facing today’s world: The Great Rupture – Three Empires, Four Turning points and the Future of Humanity – Do we need to be free? (Publisher: Boyle & Dalton.) “The lessons of the last five centuries were unequivocal — without freedom, there could be no prosperity or happiness. However, does this still hold true in the Information Age?” Shvets asks.

Presidential historian Craig Shirley’s long-awaited new book, April 1945: The Hinge of History, is now available.
The riveting follow up to Shirley’s acclaimed December 1941, April 1945 tells of the final month of the Second World War. Vigorously researched and rich in details, the book not only explores the climactic final battles of the war but also delves into the events that transformed the everyday lives of Americans and served as a catalyst for America’s shift into its role as a superpower.
Perhaps one of the most monumental months in human history, April of 1945 saw the tragic death of President Roosevelt and the final, vicious demise of Adolf Hitler. It saw the fall of the Empire of Japan and the rise of atomic weaponry. It saw the horrific revelations of the Holocaust and an American society fundamentally reshaped by global war and rapid industrialization. All of this and more is chronicled in Shirley’s engaging and resounding history of the conclusion of World War II and the impact it had on America and its citizens.
April 1945 is available for order here.
Craig Shirley was professionally involved in American politics and government for over three decades. He worked in government and on campaigns at the congressional, gubernatorial, and presidential levels but now spend his time writing and lecturing on presidential politics and American history.
In this episode your host takes a closer look at our present market turmoil and asks what has cryptocurrency got to do this all this? The show returns to a recent favorite guest, Jeffrey Robinson, for some insights and possibly some clues as to what the hell is happening.
Robinson is the bestselling author of 30 books, and a popular speaker on the international after-dinner circuit. Born in Long Beach, NY (1945), he began selling freelance articles and stories to small magazines before his 15th birthday. Later, while attending Temple University in Philadelphia (BA-1967), he wrote for television and radio, was a staff writer at KYW-TV3 (1965), scripted a popular local children's show and was on the writing staff of "The Mike Douglas Show" (1966), a nationally televised daily talk show.
After serving as a press and public relations officer in the United States Air Force (1967-1971), he took up residence in the south of France where he spent the next 12 years vagabonding around the world, writing articles and short stories for leading North American and British periodicals. In 1982, now earning his living as an established freelance journalist and short story writer, he moved to London England to write books. His money laundering tour de force, The Laundrymen (1993) was a headline-maker in 14 countries, establishing him as a recognized expert on organized crime, dirty money, fraud and money laundering.
Actively maintaining that reputation through books, television programs and speaking engagements around the world, the British Bankers' Association has labeled him, "the world's most important financial crime author." In addition to books on dirty money, he has published investigative non-fiction, major biographies and novels.

Dr Edward Bartlett, an expert in the field of public health, is the founder of the Coalition to End Domestic Violence. He is a former academic, consultant, and government regulator. Website: www. endtodv.org
According to the Coalition, each year, 4.2 million males, compared to 3.5 million females, experience domestic violence according to the Centers for Disease Control (1). But according to a recent report, Thirty Years of Domestic Violence Half-Truths, Falsehoods, and Lies, many domestic violence groups continue to promote a false narrative of male-as-perpetrator and female-as-victim (2). These falsehoods unfairly stereotype men, deprive abusive women from getting help, and undermine the effectiveness of abuse-reduction programs:
The Coalition to End Domestic Violence released the following:*
1. Each year, 17.3 million men and 12.7 million women are victims of psychological coercive control tactics, according to the CDC (3). But last year Connecticut Senator Mae Flexner ignored the research and rallied supporters to support a new law to define coercive control as a form of domestic violence. Flexner promoted her bill using the one-sided and misleading claim: “The changes in this bill will be a lifeline to the more than a third of all Connecticut women who will experience some form of intimate partner violence or stalking in their lifetime.” (4)
2. According to the CDC, American Indian men and women experience nearly identical lifetime rates of partner abuse: 81.6% and 84.3%, respectively (5). The federal Violence Against Women Act includes a section on “Safety for Indian Women.” But inexplicably, nothing about “Safety for Indian Men.”
3. Over the past year and a half, Americans have heard dire warnings that COVID stay-at-home policies were causing a dramatic “spike” and “surge” in domestic violence. But according to numerous independent analyses, these claims have no scientific basis. There has been no national increase in partner abuse as a result of COVID lockdown policies, either in the United States or abroad (6).
4. On October 5, the Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing on the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act. The senators sidestepped the problem of female-perpetrated violence. Horrifically, the following week a female NYPD officer discovered her former girlfriend cavorting with another woman. Officer Yvonne Wu opened fire, shooting her ex-lover in the chest and killing the other woman, Jamie Li (7).
5. A domestic violence curriculum known as Athletes as Leaders and Coaching Boys Into Men is being taught to high school athletes around the country. The program features an “Oppression Chart” that makes the unscientific claim that “cisgender” men are “given more power, access, and advantages,” while women are subjected to “oppression.” (8)
6. The Culture of Dishonesty was also evident when it was revealed that the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence had compensated former director Tiffany Carr $7.5 million over a three-year period, and failed to provide state officials with accurate financial reports. As a result, the Florida Coalition agreed to repay the State of Florida more than $5 million and was shut down in disgrace (9).
Fortunately, a growing number of domestic violence groups are beginning to acknowledge the existence of female abusers and male victims. The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, for example, offers a three-page fact sheet on Male Victims of Domestic Violence (10).
Researcher Murray Straus has noted, “the past 25 years has seen a systematic denial of evidence about perpetration of PV [partner violence] by women. This denial is troublesome for social scientists because it threatens the integrity of science, and for practitioners because it threatens the effectiveness of prevention and treatment efforts.” (11)

Casey J. Chalk is a contributing editor at the New Oxford Review, a senior contributor for the Federalist, and a frequent contributor to the American Conservative and Crisis Magazine. He holds a B.A. in history and a master’s in teaching from the University of Virginia, and a master’s in theology from the Notre Dame Graduate School of Theology at Christendom College. He lives with his wife, Claire, and their four children in his native Northern Virginia.
For 2,000 years, the persecution of Christians has taken place wherever the Church has been present — essentially, in every corner of the world. More than 260 million Christians around the globe are facing some form of persecution right now, and that number continues to climb each year.
The Persecuted is an astonishing book that tells the real-life stories of brave Christians who are suffering intimidation, oppression, and violence right now as they resolutely live out their Faith in Muslim lands. The author, Casey Chalk, shocked by what he saw as a journalist living overseas, presents with skill and sensitivity these riveting stories that he witnessed firsthand.
This global tour of Christian persecution will take you from the slums of Karachi, where Islamic extremists harass and kill beleaguered Christians, to the bustling, exotic streets of Bangkok, where Christians hide in fear while awaiting adjudication of their refugee applications. You’ll meet brave Christians who escaped Muslim persecution to make a new life in the Netherlands, and others who slipped away only to become trapped in Russia. Casey tells the stories of Christians who were tortured and, in some instances, killed in Muslim nations — and then lays out a strategic plan for rescuing as many as possible from their plight.
Chalk also addresses other fundamental issues, explaining why Islam’s radicals feel they must declare war on Christianity and why they persist in enslaving the Christians in their midst. He also explains how they have managed to get away with this appalling conduct in the face of powerful international organizations—and the Catholic Church herself—spotlighting the persecution and calling for its end.
These harrowing stories bring you face-to-face with fellow Christians enduring the ultimate test in distant lands. They will strengthen your faith and also prepare you for what may lie ahead here in the West if we fail to heed the advice given in this timely and important book.
