I've had patients blame their symptoms on something simple like hemorrhoids or stress and put off getting checked for months, sometimes years. By the time they finally came in, we found something more serious than they expected. I don't want you making that same mistake, especially since colon cancer rates are climbing in younger adults who never thought they needed to worry.
In this video, I'm going to walk you through the five warning signs of colon cancer you should never ignore, including a couple you probably would not connect to your colon at all.

❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED
What are the early warning signs of colon cancer?
The main signs include rectal bleeding, a lasting change in bowel habits like new constipation or diarrhea, ongoing stomach pain or cramping that will not resolve, unexplained weight loss, and persistent tiredness that does not improve with rest. Any one of these on its own is worth getting checked by a doctor, and having more than one together raises the urgency.
What age should you start colon cancer screening?
For people at average risk, screening now starts at age forty five instead of fifty, because doctors have seen a real rise in colon cancer diagnosed in younger patients. If you have a family history of colon cancer or polyps, or you are already having symptoms, you may need to start even sooner than forty five, so talk with your doctor about your personal risk.
Can colon cancer cause fatigue without any other symptoms?
Yes. A colon cancer can bleed slowly inside the body without ever showing up as visible blood in the stool, and that slow blood loss can lead to anemia. That anemia can leave you feeling tired, weak, or short of breath even when you are sleeping enough, which is why unexplained fatigue is worth mentioning to your doctor.

❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED
Does hemorrhoid banding hurt? Banding is placed on internal hemorrhoids, which have far less pain sensitivity, so the procedure is done while you are awake without significant pain. You may feel pressure or a dull ache for a few days afterward.
How long does hemorrhoid banding take to work? Placing the band takes about sixty seconds, and most people return to normal activities later that day or the next day. Full treatment of all hemorrhoid areas usually takes three visits over about a month, though most patients feel significant relief after just one or two bands.
Can hemorrhoid banding be used on external hemorrhoids? No, banding only works on internal hemorrhoids because external tissue is too sensitive to pain for this procedure. A proper evaluation is needed to determine exactly what type of hemorrhoid you have before treatment.
