Moose is back for another Diggin' Weekly with Hoz, Pete and Chuck!
Whit Merrifield was hit in the head the other night with a fastball and had some words about the state of pitching in the league today. Specifically, he said "they don't care where they throw the ball anymore." Because the process of getting to the big leagues is so focused on velocity and measurables, its led to some pitchers having no control. What can be done to ensure the safety of hitters moving forward?
Ohtani is chasing history yet again, this time for a 50/50 season, and we're stoked to finally get to see Shohei in the playoffs. Moose takes us behind the scenes of playing with him, and specifically Ohtani hitting a ball 108 mph off a tee.
As we enter the final month of the season, there remains no clear favorite in the AL or NL pennant races. The Yankees have bullpen problems and the Orioles have been sputtering. The Brewers and Padres have played well to keep pace, but can they make deep runs? So many questions remain unanswered as we head to the final stretch of the year.

Mike Moustakas joins Hoz, Pete & Chuck this week!
The guys dig into a debate that has been going around the twitter-sphere: Is the K a hitter's park? Hoz and Moose give their take and assess whether or not Bobby Witt Jr is being robbed of future MVPs because of it.
Aaron Judge is on a historical run right now. Should he considered a Yankee legend, or does he need a ring? New York resident Chuck dives into that agrument that's been going around, and why the rest of the guys believe he's already cemented himself as a legendary player and Yankee.
Chris Sale has turned back the clock to his White Sox days and has been absolutely dominating night in and night out. Pete explains why he's been so successful and why he's a top candidate to win the NL Cy Young this year.
Jackson (Barrels) Merrill also continues to show why he is the Rookie of the Year, and does in fact have the clutch gene.

Hoz and Pete tap in for another edition of Diggin' Weekly!
Who wants to win the World Series? I mean, seriously... there are a lot of teams near the top, but not a single club has stood out to us as the favorite. As the AL & NL pennant races heat up, we evalute which teams have the best shot to go the distance in October.
A legend of the game has decided to step away in Joey Votto. The guys revisit moments and stats from his stellar career, his insane on-base percentage numbers, and what his Hall of Fame candidacy might look like.
Week in and week out it's looking more and more like Jackson Merrill is going to come away with the NL Rookie of the Year award. Paul Skenes continues to impress in his rookie campaign, but rumors are swirling he might get shut down. Which could be in the best interest for the Pirates future and his.
Hoz and Pete also break down the viral video of Greg Maddux vs. Barry Bonds that is making its way around the internet. Will we ever see starters in today's MLB like that again? The guys review the proposal from MLB to require starters to go 6+ innings, and how that could change the game in the coming years if it gets passed.

Hoz and Pete are back for another edition of Diggin' Weekly!
Jackson (Barrels) Merrill continues to impress, making a game-winning diving catch this week. Jackson's been leading the red hot Padres. Despite Paul Skenes' historical start to his young career, Jackson is making the Rookie of the Year award look out of reach. Which sparked a debate with the guys: Should each league make "offensive" and "pitching" categories for the Rookie of the Year awards?
In the AL East, the Yankees have narrowly held their lead thanks to the ridiculous offensive outputs from Aaron Judge and Juan Soto. Pitchers are now so scared to pitch to Judge, he was walked with 2 outs and nobody on. Not as scared as Mookie Betts is of The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, though. For the second straight year in a row, he has declined to stay with the Dodgers there claiming it's haunted 👻 Hoz and Pete share some stories from the most haunted hotel in baseball!
