Today we spoke with Roger Bova, our Head of Design about all this—and how frosted Pop Tarts have suddenly become a staple of his daily routine.

Kema is a content strategist at Deutsch and the author of “The Gift of the Missing Men,” which was published under The New York Times “Modern Love“ column. We spoke with Kema about her family history that inspired and informed this piece, the powerful matriarchal influences in her life, and if Houston is really a part of the south or not.

Donny is Deutsch’s former Chairman + CEO and a current political commentator on programs such as MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” and “Saturday Night Politics with Donny Deutsch.” We spoke to Donny about growing up in Hollis, Queens, his working and personal relationship with his dad and the agency’s founder, David Deutsch, and the differences between his old advertising “world” and his new TV one.

Jeff is an executive producer at Deutsch who runs Steelhead, our internal production company. We spoke to Jeff about his Alaskan childhood that included both hauling in 300 lb. haddock and being on a jump rope team. We also discussed his fascinating work in the documentary film space.

Ace is an associate strategy director at Deutsch. We spoke with Ace about growing up as a Chinese immigrant in a U.S. college town, working on a pot farm and salmon boat, and finding one’s path and seeking out role models as a queer person.

Garett is a group strategy director in Deutsch's New York office. We spoke to Garett about his many treks around the world, his spirituality and the role it plays in his life and work, the benefits of journaling his many thoughts, and his investment in a sex toy start-up.

Pete is an executive creative director in Deutsch's New York office. We talked to Pete about spending part of his youth in a remote part of Egypt, and growing up with a Dad who probably wasn’t a spy. We also discussed his side-gig as a director of darkly funny (but not depressing!) films and his admiration for his wife, Tracy, who is out there fighting the good fight for better gun control.

Julia has been with Deutsch for 16 years and is our Director of Client Accounting. We spoke with Julia about navigating various forms of misogyny on a college campus during the early ‘70’s, her classical training in acting, and her subsequent string of New York City “survival jobs." We also heard about how she was able to take up ballet late in life without having to compete with unbearably cute 5 year olds, and the benefits of taking Argentine tango lessons both with and without her husband.

Luis has been at Deutsch for 15 years, and is a senior graphic artist in our studio. Luis talked with us about growing up in Brooklyn, the NYC blackout of 1977, his ascension in the world of street graffiti, and his career in the Navy, where he served around the globe and in several war zones.
