This is the jingle for the Right Start Initiative also known as the Anzilisha Campaign. It is in Kiswahili. This program was implemented by CBCC in partnership with Canada through Nutrition Internation and the Ministry of Health Kenya, between 2016 and 2020 to scale up Maternal and Neonatal Health (MNH) package and Maternal, Infant and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN) in 21 counties in Kenya.

The first 1000 days, from conception to when the child is 2 years old, are the most crucial in a child’s development of the brain, spine and immune system. Any damage during this stage is usually very difficult to reverse meaning the consequences often last a lifetime. Anzilisha maisha ya mtoto vyema ili aishi vyema.

This radio drama was part of the Tumaini Two Way Risk Communications and Community Engagement Project. DigiRedio is an SBC platform consisting of 33 community radio stations, that are part of the DigiRedio SBC platform in 30 counties in Kenya. The goal of the project is to contribute towards the preventive and control measures against COVID-19 in Kenya by engaging with the public through the Two Way COVID-19 Risk Communications and Community Engagement (RCCE). This project is powered by CBCC in patnership with USAID and the Ministry of Health.
