I wrote this song in the shadow of flames,
During the LA fires, when chaos came.
We fled our home as the skies turned black,
Smoke thickened the air, no breath to catch.
I feared the fire would claim it all,
Our sanctuary lost to its fiery thrall.
We were spared, though luck was cruel,
For friends of mine now mourn what's fuel.
Evil looms, with greed at its core,
Burning cities and towns for profit, not lore.
When will this madness find its end?
When will mercy and peace ascend?
