Returning from a short hiatus, this episode of Digital Talk aims to share as much value as possible with the digital marketing community.
Whenever I have a spare moment, I love responding to questions about digital marketing on Quora. The platform is an incredible way to share value with the digital landscape, not to mention a useful tool I use for driving organic traffic to my blog.
If you're not familiar with Quora, the platform is a Q&A website that allows users to ask questions, and in return can have subject experts provide informative answers.
Instead of just responding to answers directly on the platform, I also wanted to take the time and share my thoughts with my own network.
In this episode of my Digital talk podcast, I respond to just five questions that I’d been requested to answer. These include:
1:42 - Why does social media marketing appear like such a difficult task?
3:32 - What social media platform do you think will take over in 2020?
6:30 - How do I target Facebook group members with Facebook ads?
9:51 - What is the best way to build an audience and become an influencer?
11:35 - How do I start a career in digital marketing?
I recently had the opportunity to participate in the Advance Queensland Young Starters Competition, where I was challenged to scale what was merely a concept of mine, into a real-world solution.
Whilst in its infancy, my venture, ClickThrough, is set to be a community-based platform where Digital Marketers can create a portfolio of the real ads they bring to life.
In this episode, follow my journey as I take ClickThrough from concept to pitch over the course of a weekend.
I recently caught up with Florent Le Mens, the Social Media Advisor at CQUniversity, to talk about emerging social media strategies and the importance of personal branding. With over eight years of experience in both digital marketing and social, Flo has a wealth of knowledge to share when it comes to crafting social strategies that drive real engagement.
If you’re currently working in social media, or you’re a digital marketer looking to remain relevant within the industry, this is not an episode you’d want to miss! Flo and I take the time to share some valuable insights across a wide range of topics, including:
In this episode of Digital Talk, I uncover the planning behind hosting my first event - a hackathon for Digital Marketers.
Does public speaking make you nervous? I was never one to be phased by speaking in front of others… until I spoke on my first panel.
Being a panellist at an event was an opportunity I always wanted to pursue. I was quick to learn, however, that there’s much more that goes on behind the scenes than what I’d first imagined. In the build-up to the event, I recorded my thoughts and feelings as I prepared my speaking notes. This episode narrates my journey through conversations as I nervously participate in the panel discussion, covering what exactly the future of work will look like.
The first installment in season #2 of Digital Talk, dives into the five ways in which I believe artificial intelligence is revolutionising the digital marketing landscape.
Over the past eight months, I’ve had the pleasuring of working at Max Kelsen, the software engineering studio with a focus on big data and machine learning. At the agency, I’m exposed to a multitude of real-world machine learning developments that are re-purposing digital strategies across organisations.
Although digital marketers are constantly reminded of the importance of AI and its impact – it can often be difficult to understand the real-world implementations. Many articles exploring AI in digital marketing cover how current workflows are set to be augmented or automated, but don’t break down exactly how AI techniques can be implemented, or how the everyday marketer can jump on board.
In my recently published article, I covered five real-world examples of not just brands harnessing this emerging technology, but how the tech operates on the back-end of these laudable developments.
The five key areas include:
All-in-all, I often feel that digital marketers are slightly confused about how artificial intelligence operates. In its current state, there’s not some sort of magic AI tool that can simply plug into a self-serving ad platform. Unfortunately, us marketers don’t actually have a great ordeal to do with the development of this technology, unless of course you have a background as a software engineer.
In the final episode of Digital Talk for 2017, I cover the new AR creation platforms from both Messenger and SnapChat, Instagram letting users follow hashtags, GDN’s new custom intent audiences, and the end of Net Neutrality. Listen to the full episode below.
- In a special feature release, Facebook has also introduced responsive ads to digital marketers.
This week Instagram released its plans to separate direct messaging from its core app, Facebook launched a version of Messenger specifically for children, YouTube announced its plans to release a music streaming service early next year, and the App Store welcomed pay-per-install ad billing. Listen to the full episode below.
This week we saw the newly redesigned app from SnapChat, YouTube jumping on the stories bandwagon, Facebook better connecting brands with users through Messenger, and a behemoth of exciting releases from Amazons Re:Invent developer conference. Listen to the full episode below.
