On our final episode of our second season, I am joined by doctoral student in American Studies Shane Lynch. Shane joins me to discuss the time he spent as a HASTAC scholar, his DH projects, and the advice he has for future dh scholars.

With so few novels written by African American authors being available for scholars and general audiences in digital archives, Professor Maryemma Grahm seeks to close this gap with the Black Book Interactive Project (BBIP). For our episode today, I am joined by Professor Graham and members of her BBIP team Jade Harrison and Brendan Williams-Childs to discuss the work they do and vast network of scholars and community entities they have developed over the years. Like many DH projects, BBIP is a wonderful example of how DH research can extend beyond the host University in responding to social inequities.

IDRH Presents Digibites, a bite sized version of our Digitalks Podcast. This bonus series focuses on the work of our HASTAC Scholars. We begin with Jade Harrison of our 20-22 cohort. Jade is a PhD student in English Studies focusing on African-American Literature. She also serves as a graduate research assistant and project manager for the Black Book Interactive Project.

Our first guest is Dr. Sylvia Fernández, a Post-doc Fellow, who through her project United Fronteras, amplifies those voices and narratives at U.S.-Mexican border that have yet to be told and heard.

On this episode of Digitalks, I was able to sit down with the recently named co-director of the Institute for Digital Research in the Humanities, Dr. Dave Tell. In addition to his research on memory and how we remember the past, Dr. Tell has received considerable attention for his DH project "The Emmett Till Memory Project." We discussed all of this and his vision for fostering growth and exploration in the digital humanities at the University of Kansas.

In this episode, Dr. Marcy Lascano speaks to us about how she came to choose philosophy, specifically early modern philosophy, as a research interest, Margaret Cavendish's philosophical and fictional work, and her new DH project. We also discuss how other humanists, specifically philosophers, should approach digital humanities and their DH projects.

On our second episode, we are joined by Dr. Moya Bailey of Northeastern University. We speak to Dr. Bailey about the #TransformDH movement in the digital humanities and Misogynoir in Medicine.
