Digitally Uploaded

Welcome to the latest episode of the Digitally Uploaded podcast, companion podcast to the www.digitallydownloaded.net website.

We recorded this week's podcast ahead of E3, but we felt that there was no point talking about anything else, because that is all anyone is going to be talking about this week. So, we decided to make a game of it. By the time to hear this podcast, E3 will be in full swing, so listen along and see just how accurate we are with our predictions and so on.

We also have Harvard, one of the DDNet team, on the podcast this week, too, so enjoy! And be sure to let us know what you think of the podcast, and if there are any particular topics you'd like for us to cover in future weeks!

Is the PlayStation Vita the most underrated console ever released? If it isn't, then it's right up there, because it is a wonderful game playing machine that never quite managed to gain the respect that it deserved. JRPG fans, especially, would surely know they can't go without this console.

So this week we look at all the different PlayStation Vita games that we've loved in recent years, from Persona to Atelier, Gravity Rush to Wipeout.

Overwatch is one of those rare kinds of games that just about everyone can enjoy. Whether you're typically a fan of Call of Duty, or the most niche of JRPGs, you are likely to find something in this game that you enjoy.

So this week, Allan and Matt both talk about what they've enjoyed about the game, how they've enjoyed it, and what they'd like to see come next from Blizzard in this world.

Welcome to the latest episode of the Digitally Uploaded podcast, companion podcast to the www.digitallydownloaded.net website.

This week we focus entirely on the JRPG genre and get back to our roots with Japanese games!

Matt and Alan talk about how they "discovered" the genre, what it was about it that they like so much, and some of the impact that the genre has had on modern games. We name drop a lot of Final Fantasy and so on this week, in other words, because like most kids that grew up through the Game Boy and NES/SNES era of games, there wasn't that many other examples of the genre to experience.

No special guest this week, so you'll just have to listen to Alan and Matt rant and rave on about various topics.

Mostly, though, Matt rants a bit about Doom, which is the last time Doom will be mentioned on this podcast, we promise! And it does segue into an interesting discussion about horror games; what makes a good horror game, and what are some of the best examples of the genre out there.

This week, we have another special guest host; the two-person team at Giant Margarita, Ian and Lindsay, who are busily producing the excellent-looking local multiplayer title, Party Golf.

This week we talk about our reactions to some of the big news that has landed recently - from Persona 5 to Overwatch and a bit of Uncharted 4 for good measure. We also chat about some of the games that we play but no one else seems to like.

This week, we have special guest host, Nicole Stark, who joins us from Aussie developer, Disparity Games. Stark's key game to date is Ninja Pizza Girl, a superb speedrun platformer that landed on PC last year, and is coming to console soon enough.

With Chris taking a break, Alan and I took the opportunity to do an episode of the podcast dedicated purely to Australian games; from the earliest of games through to the many indie hits that we have now, Australia has for a very long time been one of the best regarded markets in the world for development... and it's only going bigger and better places from here.
