  • ¡Mi primera práctica de Ganado Bovino! (Día 2) - Manada del Dogtor - Parte 3 [ES | EN]
    English Version (click Here)

It’s been a while since my last video! You’re probably wondering what happened after my first day of the **cattle internship** at the *“La Utchesera”* farm, so today I’ve decided to share a bit of what I experienced—though I can’t do it full justice, because a video will never be as good as experiencing it in person—but I’ll try to help you experience it the way I did.
    ---

    ---
The day started off amazingly. We woke up early, even though we’d partied hard the night before, but that didn’t stop us—we were raring to go and full of energy to start another day. I went to find my best clothes to wear—the kind I wouldn’t mind getting dirty—and tried on a pair of boots someone had lent me. It was epic because they fit me perfectly, so I got dressed and headed off to our first workshops.
    ---
    ---
We heard some outstanding presentations from several professors, including veterinarian Martín Peña (one of my favorites that day), agricultural engineer Luis Reyes, and veterinarian Arianni Romero, among others. The talks covered topics such as proper pregnancy management in cattle, using a transrectal palpation technique to identify pathologies or determine pregnancy status, as well as topics related to feeding and nutrition in ruminants and genetic improvements for livestock.
    ---
    ---
The entire landscape looked like something out of a fairy tale; the colors were so vivid that it felt like being immersed in a painting. The cattle looked beautiful as they grazed, and the pasture was very well-maintained, which was evident from its bright green color. It was simply a magnificent experience to have been a spectator before getting involved in the action.
Something that fascinated me was being able to see the herding in person, because although they’ve explained the different types of herding to us in college, nothing compares to seeing it for yourself.
    ---
    ---
Before we got down to business, there was an unfortunate incident that ultimately gave us a golden opportunity: a **heifer** (a *"teenage"* cow) died in the early hours of Saturday morning, and the cause was unknown, so Dr. Martín Peña gave us the blessing of being able to witness a **necropsy** to investigate the cause of her death, since he is a specialist in Forensic Veterinary Medicine, and he applied Pathological Anatomy to give us an impressive lesson.
That necropsy made me incredibly happy, because I was able to recognize many things I had seen in books or heard mentioned at the clinic where I work, but had never been able to see in person. An example of this would be the **gallbladder**; I’ve always seen it on ultrasounds but had never seen an actual gallbladder outside the body—it was wonderful.
    ---
    ---
After the masterclass with Dr. Peña, we had a nearly 4-hour break to have lunch and rest up for what was coming later; plus, it gave the sun a chance to lose some of its intensity, because you might not notice it in the photos, but the heat was pretty stifling since we were working in broad daylight.
We were called to the livestock, and they explained what we were going to do; the transrectal palpation technique is very effective, but it carries certain risks, because someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing could injure the animal during the examination, so we proceeded with great care and asked many questions about everything.
    ---
    ---
And then came the moment of truth. They explained what we had to do, and I was the first in my group to feel the calf. I loved the fact that our cow, whose name was **Cachúa**, was pregnant and already about five months along, so her calf was already quite well-formed.
Note: The gestation period for a calf is approximately 283 days, or 9 months—almost like humans.
It was a very curious experience, because what you feel when performing that palpation isn’t something you’re used to. The assistant guided me through the process, and I was able to feel something that felt gelatinous. When I mentioned it, I got a little scared because they told me to pull my hand or forearm back a bit since I was touching something important. I thought it was a soft organ, but it turned out I had touched the placenta with the little calf—that made me happy.
After the examination, Dr. Peña came over to us and asked if we’d *“been baptized”*, and of course we said no because we didn’t know what that *“baptism”* was all about.
Well, it turns out they smeared our faces with the manure (or feces) that cattle produce, and behind that tradition there are also some somewhat superstitious beliefs, such as the fact that they told us that if we didn’t go through that “baptism” process, then we would never graduate. That led me to undergo my baptism without complaint, because I take it very seriously.
    ---
I hope you enjoy my video and vlog as much as I enjoyed making it, and feel free to leave any questions or requests in the comments.

    English Version (click Here)

Ever since I started my degree in **Veterinary Medicine**, I always thought I’d end up with a clear goal: working with **small animals** (cats and dogs). But over the course of my studies so far (about two and a half months), my interests have shifted significantly, to the point that I now have another path in mind, which I’ll tell you about in due time.
I was asked at the time if I was interested in working with **large animals**—these are animals generally used for farm work, such as **livestock**— but in veterinary medicine, livestock doesn’t just refer to **cows** (cattle), but can also refer to **goats**, **sheep**, **pigs**, and **poultry** (birds like quail).

    My First Experience with Cattle
For the first time in my life, I decided to attend a cattle practice to learn about that field and gain a better understanding of other areas within veterinary medicine, because I’ve been advised to explore different fields and experiences and not limit myself to just one specialty so that I can make an informed decision when I graduate.
In this first video, I’m sharing a brief recap of our arrival at the farm where we’re working, the trip itself, and what we experienced on the first night.
    Words of Motivation
One wonderful experience I had was meeting Professor, Veterinarian, and Forensic Pathologist **Martín Peña**, because he shared some incredibly inspiring words about the university I attend (Simón Rodríguez National Experimental University), which doesn’t really have a good reputation right now, but he showed us that there can indeed be top-notch professionals who come from that institution and that it’s the student who makes the degree, not the university—that speech really hit the nail on the head.
I hope you enjoy this Day 1; later, I’ll show you the other days where incredible things happened.

    English Version (click Here)

Discovering new things makes life feel completely different to me; one thing that sets me apart in a very unique way is that I’m a person with a very **visual** and **kinesthetic** learning style, so when I see and touch things, I can learn so much more than just by reading a book or listening to a lecture.
Last Tuesday, I had a class on **Domestic Animal Anatomy**, specifically on the topic of **arthrology**—that is, the study of **joints** in the animal body—and I enjoyed it immensely because I had never seen a horse’s skull in my life.
    -----

    ![20260407_164027.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/dimeilaz/23yd1iPRqDRzB5GKNijXMa6U2nxBbh2f599pnkCi4eEttyC1dSqB2Qop3KxdxENcMfiRs.jpg)
    -----
It’s amazing how heavy and huge it is. Obviously, we know that horses are animals that have served humans as a means of transportation for a very long time, thanks to their powerful musculature and build, which have allowed them to handle such heavy workloads as a mode of transport.
    🦦 Veterinary Trivia 🦥
In this class, I learned something I never would have guessed: beyond the joints we know as those **bony connections** that allow us to move like a hinge, there is a type of joint known as a **synarthrosis**, which is an immobile joint that connects tissues through fibrous or cartilaginous tissue, therefore, they have no capacity for movement whatsoever; they are fixed in specific locations on the body, such as the **sutures** in the **skull** area.
These "sutures" are known within **synarthrosis** as **synfibrosis**, which we can locate if we look at the image on the left among the previous images; we will notice that the horse’s skull, in the area surrounding what would be the region around the eye (zygomatic bone), has black lines that appear to divide the area into several parts, as if the skull had been broken and glued back together in pieces.
Well, it turns out that those lines are **symphysis** joints, belonging to the **synarthrosis** known as **sutures** in the skull; we also have these joints, because our skull literally grows as we develop until the bones come together to form what we know as the skull—curious, isn’t it?

    -----
    ![20260407_164027.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/dimeilaz/23yd1iPRqDRzB5GKNijXMa6U2nxBbh2f599pnkCi4eEttyC1dSqB2Qop3KxdxENcMfiRs.jpg)
    -----

    English Version (click Here)

New beginnings can sometimes be quite challenging, especially when they involve a drastic change in your life; that’s exactly what’s happening to me right now, because I’ve just rediscovered my purpose at **31 years old**—yes, we all go through those famous “mid-life crises,” and mine happened as I entered my 30s.
I realized I wasn’t doing what truly made me happy, even though I had a career that pays very well, but ultimately doesn’t fulfill me. Because while money brings happiness, working at something you don’t like is the worst torment one can experience in life, so I had to ask myself the following question:

What do I really want to do with my life?
And I have to admit that I never thought the answer to that question would have anything to do with **medicine**, because, although I’ve always been a devoted lover of science, I never imagined myself becoming a doctor—neither a human doctor nor a veterinarian. However, there’s one key factor that led me to make this decision: **I love animals too much**.
Everyone who knows me knows that I’m a very sensitive person and an animal lover through and through; I have a deep-rooted soft spot for them, and that’s why I decided to give myself a chance to study this, to see if I’m really cut out to be a veterinarian—and I have to say it’s been the best decision I’ve ever made.
Going back to college is interesting after you’ve already finished your degree and are now an adult; it’s funny that most of my classmates are so young (18- or 19-year-olds), and that often means we don’t see eye to eye on certain things because, while they’re just starting to live their lives, I already have twice as much life experience as they do.
Now I live surrounded by animals and people who are on the same wavelength as me, after having gone through the **initial phase**, **pre-med** or **PIU** (as we were formally identified), I started to see the subjects I wanted to study, and now I’m really giving 1000% to my career—unlike in my first year, when it was really hard for me to get good grades. Now it comes more easily because I’ve become more disciplined about studying.
Every day I wake up with a level of happiness and motivation you can’t even imagine; it’s something that nourishes me, fills me up inside, and drives me to want to be the best veterinarian in this country in my field—which I’ll tell you more about step by step.
🦦 Welcome to the Pack! 🦥
Following in the footsteps of my buddy @eddiespino as inspiration, I decided to create a space where I’ll post content related to **Veterinary Medicine** and **Animal Health**. It’s worth noting that I don’t have a lot of knowledge yet, but you can join me on my journey of growth and development as I work toward my goal of becoming a **Veterinarian**.
That said, the graphic design might give you some clues about what I want to do in this field.
And you... have you started from scratch after turning 30 or older? Tell me about it in the comments!

    English Version (click Here)

Welcome back to my blog, everyone! Today I bring you a video on my channel @threspeak that I made one day when an important documentary was filmed to learn about the story of **Zazú**, a macaw with a tragic history because he suffered an injury at the hands of some children who threw stones at him and ended up destroying his right wing, which, unfortunately, will have to be amputated to save his life.

I met Zazú last Sunday, January 11, and his story moved me deeply. Alejandra Lara, a surgeon at the clinic where I work, decided to adopt Zazú, who came into her care thanks to some kind people and police officers who were in the area where this baby fell. Alejandra Lara, who is a surgeon at the clinic where I work, decided to adopt Zazú, who came into her care thanks to some kind people and police officers who were in the area where this 10-month-old baby fell. Unfortunately, Zazú will never be able to fly again, but there is still a chance to give him a good quality of life. He will need to undergo a fairly risky surgery, but the prognosis is good.
A colleague at the clinic where I work made a documentary about him and it went viral. If you want to see the video, I invite you to watch his [Reel about Zazú](https://www.instagram.com/p/DTk5ksWDFFB/) to find out everything that has happened, as well as the first update, which you can see [here](https://www.instagram.com/p/DTu4nT4jKWv/).
We are waiting to see how things unfold, hoping and praying that Zazú will pull through with the operation. Many people have helped us with donations, and we are truly grateful. We are all united in this mission to ensure that Zazú has a dignified life with his operation, which is why I decided to share this information here on my blog.

Welcome back to my blog, everyone! Today I'm bringing you a video on my channel @threespeak after a long time without uploading anything related to dance. This time it's a **Bachata** video, motivated by several specific things.
First of all, **Yoy Salseros is back**, but now we're in a new location. As you'll see in the video, the background of the dance hall is different, and that's because we moved to another area that's much better because it's more central. It's easier to get to, and we have two well-equipped dance halls.
Last Saturday we had our reopening, and it was absolutely spectacular. Here are some photos from the event:

    The #AtacaDardosChallenge
The year 2025 ended with a bachata challenge from a professional dancer I really like, **Jorge Burgos**, aka "Ataca" in the world of Bachata, and I decided I wanted to participate in his challenge, which can be found at this [Instagram link](https://www.instagram.com/p/DSklZN6jk1l/); Also, this year I'm going to be teaching "Sensual Bachata" at my dance school, so I had to show how good I am, right? 😂
So I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed dancing and recording it.

Welcome back to my blog, everyone! Today I'm bringing you a video on my channel @threespeak to show you a new project I have as a content creator. As you know, at the end of 2025 I began studying veterinary medicine, and in my search for a new content creation project, I decided to create a [new TikTok account](https://www.tiktok.com/@guille.auxvet) where I want to share videos about my learning experience in the world of veterinary medicine at the clinic where I work.
I don't claim that my content is the absolute truth on any health topic, but I do want to contribute a little of my perspective to share the information and experience I am gaining by seeing it every day in my activities within this beautiful but also beautifully painful world.
I invite you to follow me on my new TikTok account and leave me a comment if you like this content, and I hope you enjoy it very much.

    English Version (Click Here)

Today I feel very happy, because I never thought my life would change so much in a matter of months. This year, 2025, was a year of many important victories, many changes, many falls, many losses of people, places, moments, but also of receiving many blessings and having the joy of finding something important: **my true purpose**.
Throughout my life, I have done many things: music, soccer, theater, programming, but there was always a significant void, something was always missing, and that something is the most important reason for living, **happiness**.
This year, 2025, was a year in which I dared to do something I should have done a long time ago, and that is to start entering the world of **veterinary medicine**. I have always had an incredible love for animals, but I did not know that I could also have a vocation to understand their health and want to help them preserve it medically.
This year was an incredible challenge, but with the great team that accompanies me and the doctors who always impart their knowledge to me, I know that I will become a great veterinarian and surgeon.

  • ¡Pareja Novato - Guillermo y Kimberly - Yoy Salseros - Nagüito! | La Clave de Oro [ES | EN]
    English Version (click here)

Welcome back to my blog, guys! Today I bring you a video on my @threespeak channel to show you my first participation that I had last Friday, already incredibly a week ago in the dance competition **La Clave De Oro**, which took place in **Maturín, Monagas State** in my country Venezuela.

This choreography was an absolute challenge for me and my partner **Kim**, which curiously has my last name too, so many people asked us if we were brothers and since that day, now we are, because we agreed that whoever asked again we were going to answer yes on that subject.
There were many rehearsals, many days where we received some harsh criticism because we were really both quite irresponsible when rehearsing for personal issues, health issues and simply issues of not having enough discipline to coordinate; there were times when I wanted to give up and not compete in that category, but in the end I decided to go all the way with her and we began to rehearse a lot in the days leading up to the competition, and to my surprise, we took that podium of 1st place in the category **Newcomer Couple**.
I am very grateful to my school @yoysalseros for the dedication, for the rehearsals, for the encouragement and for the corrections that took us to our highest level, also to my dear partner and dance partner Kimberly Hernandez for not giving up and trusting her, me and us that was the most important part about it.
I hope you enjoy the choreography!

    English Version (Click Here)

Welcome back to my blog, guys! Today I'm bringing you a video on my @threespeak channel to show you an idea I had last Tuesday along with some veterinary assistant colleagues to make a fun video for the social media of the store where I'm doing my internships.
We found a **Reels** on **Instagram** with a trending video about puppies in veterinary centers that ended up doing the doctors job for an internal pun, if you want to understand what I mean, watch the video and let me know what you think.
Our main character is called **Chuck**, he is a puppy that we are taking care of in the store while they are doing the paperwork to get him out of the country, he is the best actor you could ask for for this type of content.
Let's keep growing and making the love for animals grow!
