We don't often grill at home, but when we do, we try to give ourselves a real feast. There are thousands of ways to grill because there are different cuts of meat, different proteins and different ways of seasoning what we are going to eat, but below you will see the way we consider the most appropriate, or rather, the way we like the most.

For this grill we bought instant charcoal because it was difficult to get firewood, which is the best way to cook, but believe me, charcoal also gives very good results. The proteins we used were chicken, beef, pork and chorizo.

The chicken wings were marinated with hot bell pepper, onion, garlic, salt and black pepper. We think grilled hot wings are wonderful and we particularly like them well cooked.

On the other hand, the sirloin steak that was seasoned with salt, black pepper, paprika and garlic powder, we like it more medium as overcooking can make it too tough. As you can see, the cuts are medium in size.

Smoked pork chops and spicy chorizos have the advantage of not needing to be seasoned with anything as their own flavor is more than enough, it would be a mistake to add something to try to give them another flavor. We like these two elements well cooked.

As side dishes, we parboiled yucca and made a salad with carrots, cabbage and cilantro, which we seasoned with salt, pepper and some mayonnaise. This pair should never be missing in our grills.

And well, that's how we make the grills at home. At other times it may vary in terms of proteins and cuts of meats, but we usually try to make it just as you see in the following photos.

Ah, I almost forgot, I must point out that to enhance the flavor of this grill we made a sauce that we call guasacaca which is made of green tomatoes, garlic, onion, cilantro, oil, salt and pepper, you can't imagine how important this sauce is.

Espero todos se encuentren bien, el día de hoy les traigo una canción un poco alegre o más alegre de lo que yo no suelo presentar acá (Risas) pues yo adoro son las canciones rompe venas y esas que te hacen cantarla como si te está pasando, aunque estés del todo bien en pareja en ese momento.

“Vivir mi vida” una súper tema que sonó un montón en el año 2013, no paraba de escucharse en esa época en todos lados, que llego un momento que me saturo, debo confesarlo que cuando queman tanto un tema llega un momento que termino odiándolo (Risas) pero en este caso no paso por que la canción tiene un buen mensaje y encima viene del gran artista Marc Anthony quien cuenta con una larga trayectoria musical y esa voz es incomparable, unos agudos impresionantes.

This song has a very powerful and true message, sometimes we tend to worry about things that are not worth it or better said sometimes they have no solution, then we wear ourselves out emotionally or we can affect our physical health as well as the people around us, that is where that part of the song comes to life “Live my life lalalala”, we must laugh, enjoy and not get stuck in things that we have no control, maybe live the grief and cry as necessary but it is very bad to stay there with no way out. Life is too short, although it sounds a cliché and do not forget that we have a million opportunities to be happy.

With time and experience I have learned that you can't have everything, that there is always something that ails us and distracts us and sometimes can make us lose sight of the blessings that are in our eyes, that's why I always try not to forget what I have and the people who are by my side. Este tema tiene un mensaje muy poderoso y cierto, a veces solemos preocuparnos por cosas que no valen la pena o mejor dicho a veces ni solución tienen, entonces nos desgastamos emocionalmente o podemos afectar nuestra salud física así como las personas que están a nuestro alrededor, es ahí donde esa parte de la canción cobra vida “Vivir mi vida lalalala“, hay que reír, gozar y no estancarse en cosas que no tenemos control, quizás vivir el duelo y llorar lo necesario pero es muy malo quedarse ahí sin salida. La vida es demasiado corta, aunque suene un cliché y y no olvidar que tenemos un millón de oportunidades para ser felices.

Con el tiempo y la experiencia he aprendido que no se puede tener todo, que siempre hay algo que nos aqueja y nos distrae y a veces puede hacernos perder de vista las bendiciones que están en nuestros ojos, es por eso que siempre trato de no olvidar lo que tengo y las personas que están a mi lado. ¡Acá les dejo mi versión, feliz de estar siempre acá, y les envió el mayor de los cariños a todos!

Hello everyone dear Foodies Bee Hive community, I had a long time without sharing a post here, but in the last few days I had a recipe in my head that provoked me a lot, so I proceeded to buy the ingredients and make it. You are probably confused with the name of the post since the word “patacones” is quite regionalist, but I will explain it quickly. Patacones are fried green plantains which serve as a base for different combinations and toppings, they are very popular here in Venezuela and Latin America.

So, the patacones I'm going to cook have shredded beef, mozzarella cheese and ham. Below you will see a series of photos of the step by step, but in the video you can see it in more detail.

To prepare the shredded beef I used beef brisket which I cooked in the pressure cooker to tenderize it, then, I shredded it with my own hands to reduce its size and adjust it to the size required for this recipe.

To season the meat, I used onion, tomato, cilantro, garlic and sweet chili bell pepper. I cut everything as small as possible so that it would be easy to cook, taking into account that the meat is already cooked.

I seasoned the meat only with salt and cooked it with onotado oil. This is the result, the meat was soft, juicy and with good flavor.

I used green plantain from which I removed the shells and cut them in three parts. In total I used 5 plantains for a portion for 4 people.

I fried the plantains for 5 minutes, then I removed them and once they cooled I flattened them with a stone to give them the desired shape. Then I fried them again until they were golden brown and crispy.

As a complement, I used mozzarella cheese and a ham I had in the refrigerator, I thought they would be perfect accompaniments for this recipe that I had not seen in any restaurant so far.

For the final assembly of the dish, I made a kind of sandwich with the plantains, filled them with the previously cooked meat and added the cheese and ham.

This seems to be a simple dish, but believe me it takes time to prepare, however, the resulting flavor with these combinations is wonderful. That day I had lunch with my parents and husband and I must say that it was a very enjoyable moment. It was a pleasure to share this recipe with you, a big hug!

Week 102 at the Hive Music Festival, every day this musical house grows more and more and of course it is nice to see how more and more great talents that particularly inspire me a lot, and it is an honor to be surrounded by so much talent. This week I brought you a song by Divo de Juarez who is still present in the hearts of many in Latin America, of course who doesn't love his music and his interpretation, an incomparable musician who left a wonderful legacy. Personally I feel he left early or suddenly as I feel he still had a lot to give.

His trajectory and his life story is to be admired having so little and with many things against him, having a hard childhood and full of shortages he achieved a lot, he knew what it was like to have nothing and then to be loved by so many for his music.

Semana 102 en el Hive Music Festival, cada día crece más esta casa musical y por supuesto es lindo ver como se suman cada vez más grandes talentos que particularmente me inspiran muchísimo, y es un honor estar rodeada de tanto talento. Esta semana les traje un tema del Divo de Juárez que aún sigue presente en el corazón de muchos en Latinoamérica, por supuesto que quien no ama su música y su interpretación un músico inigualable y que dejo un legado maravilloso. Personalmente siento que se fue pronto o repentinamente ya que siento que aún tenía mucho por dar.

Su trayectoria y su historia de vida es de admirar teniendo tan poco y con muchas cosas en su contra, teniendo una infancia dura y llena de carencias logro muchísimo, supo lo que fue tener nada y luego que tantos lo amaran por su música.

I love Juanga, his music always brings me nostalgia of childhood and perhaps memories that at the time were of changes and transition in my life. “Te Lo Pido Por Favor” is a wonderful song, I think that definition is too short for what this lyric makes you feel, who else but him knows how to transmit each phrase, each lyric and with those musical arrangements where he also gives credit to his musicians.

“Te Lo Pido Por Favor” talks about a love that is ending, where one of them cries out to please not to end, of course it must be difficult that, leaving your loved one, many at some point in life have gone through that. Me encanta Juanga, siempre su música me trae nostalgias de infancia y quizás recuerdos que en su momento fueron de cambios y transición en mi vida. “Te Lo Pido Por Favor” es un tema maravilloso, creo que esa definición se quedó corta para lo que hace sentir esta letra, es quien más que el sabiendo transmitir cada frase, cada letra y con esos arreglos musicales donde se la da también merito a sus músicos.

The song I bring you is “Ojalá pudiera borrarte”, what a beautiful and nostalgic song, this song brings me so many nice memories, I was a teenager when it came out and at that time I was living many emotions, I was growing up, I had many concerns about life about what I wanted to study and so on, the typical things that can sometimes disturb you when you are very young and now that you are more adult you realize that they are nonsense compared to life as an adult.

Un saludo para todos amigos, una vez más acá con mucho gusto y agrado, semana 101, cada vez más a gusto de estar acá, no puedo negar que así sea y estoy muy agradecida. En esta semana les traigo una canción de una de mis bandas latinas favoritas de toda la vida o desde que tengo uso de razón, si, les hablo de Mana, bueno no es secreto que les he presentado muchas canciones de ellos, pero es que los amo completamente además que es mi genero favorito, esta agrupación me inspira muchísimo tienen una larga y respetada trayectoria musical y creo que es un honor que en Latinoamérica contemos con ellos.

El tema que les traigo es “Ojalá pudiera borrarte”, vaya que tema tan precioso y nostálgico, esta canción me trae tan lindos recuerdos, yo era adolescente cuando salió y en esa época estaba viviendo muchas emociones, pues estaba creciendo, tenía muchas inquietudes de la vida sobre que quería estudiar y así, las cosas típicas que pueden a veces perturbar a uno cuando está muy joven y ahora que eres más adulto te das cuenta que son tonterías en comparación con la vida de adulto.

Con unos arreglos musicales preciosos y la voz de Fer siempre destacando con su dulzura, es por eso que es de mis cantantes estrellas (tengo un top bastante amplio de favoritos).

This week I present a song with many years of the Spanish group “El Último de la Fila” one of his most famous songs called “Como Un Burro Amarrado A La Puerta Del Baile”, if you have a super long and very different title. It seems to me a very characteristic and unique song, quite fresh, catchy and why not danceable, these gentlemen from Barcelona Spain do make good music.

Hemos llegado a la semana 100, es un gran logro para todos y los líderes de la comunidad, han hecho un gran trabajo y han dejado huellas en cada uno de los grandes artistas que acá hacen vida musical, felicidades por esas primeras 100 semanas sé que serán muchísimas más, larga vida al Hive Music Festival. Gracias por darme la oportunidad de estar acá y de compartir con ustedes un poco de mi humilde trabajo.

Esta semana le presento una canción con muchos años de la agrupación española “El Último de la Fila” uno de sus temas más famosos que lleva por nombre “Como Un Burro Amarrado A La Puerta Del Baile”, si tiene un título súper largo y muy diferente. Me parece una canción muy característica y única, bastante fresca pegajosa y por qué no bailable, estos caballeros oriundos de Barcelona España sí que hacen buena música.

It has a lyric that maybe at first you feel that it doesn't have much logic, but the truth is that if you pay attention it has a lot of rhyme and a lot of sense and its musical arrangement is great, from what I can understand of this lyric it may mean in some way about the limitations that we can have sometimes or those things that we are not doing the things that really give us happiness or that you just don't feel confident, you feel melancholy in the lyric and its meaning.

It was released in 1993 and the truth is that for its time the rhythm and composition make you think that it may be more recent, at least I thought it was. My mother used to listen to this song when I was little and the truth is that I like the song until now, so it is a pleasure to bring you my version trying to give it that personal touch on my Ukelele. Tiene una letra que quizás al principio sientas que no tiene mucha lógica, pero la verdad es que si le prestas atención tiene mucha rima y mucho sentido y su arreglo musical es estupendo, por lo que puedo entender de esta letra puede que quiera decir de alguna forma sobre las limitaciones que podemos tener a veces o aquellas cosas que no estamos haciendo las cosas que realmente nos dan felicidad o que simplemente no te sientes en confianza, se siente melancolía en la letra y su significado.

Fue lanzada en el año 1993 y la verdad es que para su época el ritmo y composición hacer pensar que puede ser más reciente, al menos yo pensé que lo era. Este tema lo escuchaba mi madre estando yo pequeña y la verdad me gusta la canción hasta ahora, así que es un gusto traerles mi versión tratando de darle ese toque personal en mi Ukelele. Greetings dear friends it is a pleasure for me to be here in this week 99, it is always an honor to share the stage with such talented people. This week is a little out of comfort for me because I have covered a song that is not my favorite genre but I find it interesting that we put challenges from time to time, Greeicy is a singer who may not have (personal thought) a great voice or something out of the ordinary, but I think she does a good job and her performance, her charisma and beauty make her very successful, I like her very much and I follow her on social networks, so I dared to bring a song that she did a duet with Nacho.

“Destino” has a lyric that talks about 2 people who fell in love, and still want to show that love they have or had, it's about 5 years ago that this song was released properly, I feel that it was not as catchy as others of hers, but nevertheless I found it an interesting proposal by both, a lyric with rhythm that usually pleases the public.

Saludos queridos amigos es para mí un placer estar acá en esta semana 99, siempre es un honor compartir escenarios con personas tan talentosas. Esta semana es un poco fuera de confort para mí ya que he versionado una canción que no es mi genero preferido pero me parece interesante que nos pongamos retos de vez en cuando, Greeicy es una cantante que quizás no tiene ( pensamiento personal) una gran voz o algo fuera de lo común, pero me parece que hace un buen trabajo y su performance, su carisma y belleza la hacen tener mucho éxito, me cae súper bien y la sigo en las redes sociales, así que me atreví a traer un tema que hizo en dueto junto con Nacho.

“Destino” tiene una letra que habla sobre 2 personas que se enamoraron, y se quieren demostrar aun ese amor que se tienen o tuvieron, ya tiene como 5 años que se lanzó este tema apropiadamente, siento que no fue tan pegajosa como otras de ella, pero sin embargo me pareció una propuesta interesante por parte de ambos, una letra con ritmo que le suele agradar al público.

The video is one of those typical of urban music, this song was released in 2019 and belongs to Greeicy's star album called “Baila”. I found interesting the participation of Nacho in this project, without a doubt his influence in the composition was noticed, it has that touch of him and of course without leaving behind the artistic freshness of the singer.

I don't feel too happy with the result, I have to keep improving, but I like having challenged myself and maybe I have to finish the song better or slow down, always looking forward to keep improving, you never stop learning and growing in music. Thank you very much dear friends!

El video es de esos típicos de música urbana, esta canción fue lanzada en el año 2019 y pertenece al álbum estrella de Greeicy llamado “Baila”. Me pareció interesante la participación de Nacho en este proyecto sin dudas se notó su influencia en la composición, tiene ese toque de él y por supuesto sin dejar atrás lo frescura artística de la cantante.

No me siento demasiado a gusto con el resultado, debo seguir mejorando, pero me gusto haberme retado y si quizás por ahí tenga que terminar la canción mejor o bajar la velocidad, siempre con ganas de seguir mejorando, nunca se termina de aprender y crecer en la música. ¡Muchas gracias queridos amigos!

I am happy to be here once again, unfortunately I missed the previous week after months of struggling not to miss a single one, even with the flu I participated, but this time it was a major cause. I was very bad, in fact I am still on medication because about 8 days ago I had an infection in my nose on the inside, a nasal vestibulitis which inflamed my face and I had to go twice to the emergency room because the pain was horrible and I couldn't even sleep.

Thank God I am better and the inflammation has gone down. The song I bring you today is called “Cálido y Frío”, by the great Venezuelan singer-songwriter Franco de Vita. For some reason I had completely forgotten this song and yesterday I was thinking about my presentation this week until by chance I heard it passing by in a car.

Estoy contenta de estar acá una vez más, lamentablemente me perdí la semana anterior después de meses de luchar por no perderme ni una, hasta con gripe participaba, pero esta vez fue una causa mayor. Estuve muy mal de hecho aún continuo con medicamentos ya que hace algo de 8 días tuve una infección en la nariz por la parte interna, una vestibulitis nasal qué me inflamo la cara y tuve que ir 2 veces a urgencias ya que el dolor era horrible y no podía ni dormir.

Gracias a Dios estoy mejor y la inflamación bajo. El tema que les traigo hoy se llama "Cálido y Frío", de el gran cantautor Venezolano Franco de Vita. Por alguna razón había olvidado esta canción por completo y estuve ayer pensando en mi presentación de esta semana hasta que por casualidad la escuché pasar en un carro.

This singer is one of the most loved by me, the truth is that I feel proud that he represents us outside of Venezuela and although he is currently out of the public spotlight I try to follow him through his social networks to know about him. This song is a lot of years old, I was barely born, but the truth is that these are golden times which are sincerely appreciated and the legacy left by those musicians of the 80's is unique and special.

This album is called “Voces a mi alrededor”, of course on that album there are many other amazing songs that I'm sure all Franco's fans will love. Franco in his lyrics is a hopeless romantic and as expected he stands out in this one, the harmony of this song and its chorus is beautiful and fresh at the same time, I'm glad I remembered this song and bring my humble version, thank you so much for all the love my friends, a hug!

Este cantante es uno de lo más queridos por mí, la verdad me siento orgullosa de que nos represente fuera de Venezuela y aunque actualmente está fuera del foco publico trato de seguirlo por sus redes sociales para saber de él. Esta canción tiene un montón de años apenas había nacido, pero la verdad es que son épocas doradas qué sinceramente se aprecian y ese legado que dejan aquellos músicos de los 80 es único y especial.

Este álbum se llama “Voces a mi alrededor”, por supuesto que en ese disco hay muchos otros temas increíbles que estoy segura que todos los fanáticos de Franco les encanta. It is a pleasure for me to share with you my participation in week 19 of the Vibes Web3 Music Competition. This time I bring a song from one of my favorite artists of all time. Shakira has always been an inspiration for me when it comes to singing and although it is true that her style has changed a lot, I still listen to her old songs as well as her current ones. “Sale el sol” is one of Shakira's many hits, it's a catchy song with simple but beautiful lyrics.

I have always had a lot of fun singing Shakira's songs, there are many that I have shared in this blockchain because I really like her way of singing, she is undoubtedly a reference for me.
